Hi Everyone,

Just like Coindexter, I'm a chat/message boards/blogs junkie. heheheheh... Not that much at the moment due to work and school demands. I'm juggling both but I usually have to get my cyber fix daily.

We were ahving a down time at work and it was a pretty light work day so I was bored. I decided to surf a bit and see how things are going elsewhere. It brought me here. I'm an active participant/member of several online communities and I really wasn't intending to sign up for a new one but the design of this site is oddly familiar. So familiar that it makes me think this thing was or is being run by a good friend fo mine. In which case, I would say, small world, pal.

I'm deliberately missing out some personal info because I'm not sure if this is Mark's site, too.

I've read through some threads and it seems there's a whole bunch of different people here. Variety is good. Soices online life up.

Looking forward to the party.

p.s. just some personal info. No BS.

I'm 25, female, single. Asian, Christian. I'm fairly articulate and educated. I do love exchanging ideas and opinions. I bow out of a debate only when the punches get to be below the belt. I enjoy a helathyand lively discussion on politics and beliefs, culture and business (no show biz for me.... ehhehehe) But I like them smart and insightful. No personal attacks.

Welcome, EasterBarbie.

This is a good group of guys and gals here, and nobody ever insults anybody that I know of. Also, we never post spam, nor do we pass-on Urban Legends.

Now this (below) is the real goods. A guy at work here heard this directly from his uncle in Georgia, so I can guarantee it to be true;

A guy was at a business convention in Atlanta last week, and took his eyes off his wife and kids for two minutes, and they were GONE! Apparently, there is a white slavery ring operating across the nation, and they are kidnapping soccer mom’s and little kids to ship-off to South America to be used as concubines, drug couriers, and workers in the factories that produce clothes for the Gap and Old Navy.

The guy calls the cops, and when the officer takes his statement, he hands the officer his wallet to prove his identity. It wasn’t until an hour later that the guy realizes that his credit cards are MISSING!!. Apparently there are bands of fake policemen who prey on distressed spouses of kidnapping victims. He calls the credit card company, and there have been a HALF A MILLION dollars worth of merchandise charged on his cards, and he is responsible for all of it. Because he willingly handed the wallet over to the fake cops, it is deemed his responsibility, and there is nothing the credit card companies can do for him, except bill him.

The poor guy purchases a soda from the vending machine in the hotel lobby, and almost chokes on the first sip of Diet Cola. He almost swallows a HYPODERMIC NEEDLE that had been planted in the soda. Apparently, there are some sick guys at the Coca Cola processing plant who are putting AIDS infected needles in the cans, right under the nose of their supervisors. DO NOT buy your sodas in cans, purchase only the products in clear plastic bottles!!

Anyway, the guy goes to the hotel bar to try and unwind. He meets an attractive blonde lady who strikes up a conversation with him. She is very sympathetic to his situation, and is a very compassionate listener. The blonde offers to take him up to her room, for some privacy, and some free drinks. He wouldn’t ordinarily do this kind of thing, but then again, this hasn’t been exactly an ordinary day. Up in her room, she pours him a drink, and then excuses herself to go to the bathroom. The guy takes a few sips, and begins to get very comfortable, even slightly drowsy. He can barely keep his eyes open, even when the blonde comes out of the bathroom, TOTALLY NAKED. That’s the last thing he remembers.

Several hours pass, the poor guy can’t be sure. He awakens in hotel bathroom, in a bathtub full of ice. He is in an incredible amount of pain. He notices a cordless phone on the floor beside the tub. There is a note taped to the mirror. In large block letters, the note says, “Do not attempt to get up or move around unassisted. Use the phone to dial 911, and call for an ambulance. Remain calm, and you will be alright.” The poor man makes the phone call, and then notices the huge scar, rudely stitched, across his chest and side. The blonde lady had slipped him a mickey, and then she and an accomplice had REMOVED HIS KIDNEYS, HEART AND LUNGS to be sold to illegal organ merchants!!!

Right before the ambulance crew arrives, the guy can’t help but notice that the note taped to the mirror is covered in a suspicious white powder. THEY HAD COATED THE NOTE WITH ANTHRAX SPORES!!!

This is a true story. Please pass it along to all your friends, so they will know the risks, and will be very careful in the future, NOT TO OPEN ANY EMAIL FROM YOU. Ever again.

Sorry I can be a little dense sometimes. I don't get the humor nor the point of the poor guy story.

Sorry, EasternBarbie

That was just a tongue-in-cheek parody of all those spam emails and urban legends that one or two of my friends like to send out. I apologize for coming on so strong, especially on your first visit to allforums.

I had to think about this one, LOL LOL. Come to think of it, I get apologized to by biting my tongue and playing dumb? Whew, not bad, huh?

Look guys, I just happened by and I thought it'd be fun to find out if this is indeed one of my friend's many sites. And seeing that it dates back to more than a couple of years back, I'm eager to find out what's in it for me. Was just laying my cards on the table is all.

I may be a little sensitive though. I'm disabled.

Don't worry about being sensitive, dear. I get upset over just about anything and people here still respect me... er, I think. Sometimes. :lolhit:

Welcome to allforums EB. I don't know of anyone named Mark associated with this site, the owner posts under the SN, DrewM.

We do indeed have a nice mix of people here and it would seem you'd fit right in. Debates sometimes get heated and we don't like to censor people, but we also do appreciate a certain level of civility on the boards as well. If someone says something unseemly to you, just toss off a quick PM to one of the mods and we'll have a talk with the insensitive lout. Maybe. Once again, welcome to allforums. :flowers:
