BAGHDAD, Iraq (30 December 2006) - Saddam Hussein , the dictator who ruled Iraq with a remorseless brutality for a quarter-century and who was helped to stay in power by US and then driven from power by the same through a war that left his country in shambles, was taken to the gallows and assassinated Saturday, ABC News reported.

now that the democratically elected government of Iraq has this behind them, they can move forward. they don't have to worry about their old boogieman coming back, just the one coming around the block.

What happened to Saddam was not sudden, unexpected, nor impersonal. He was executed for crimes against his own county, buy his own countrymen.
