Anyone see this movie?
I saw it with my family on Christmas Day.. it was VERY moving, and told the story of Mary and Joseph up to Jesus's Birth by reference of the Bible and historical perspective.
It seems to be a "quiet" movie.. no "in your face" messages, or extreme gore to attract sympathy... it merely told the story as it needed to be told.
The soundtrack was very good, and the end sequence with the stars alligning and merging to direct the wisemen was a sight to see.
It wasn't completely accurate... the wisemen did not show up the very night Jesus was conceived, they actually arrived a few years later. The Shepards WERE there.. but there were no Angels and "hosts of heaven" singing when Jesus was born, as the Bible said.
However, it WAS accurate that King Herod killed all the young children under 2 in bethlehem in order to attempt to "kill" the prophecy that a king would rise and overthrow his power.. which is sadistic and evil no matter HOW you look at it.
Overall, it was a very informative and musically compelling movie... a must-see if you at all are interested in the story of Jesus and how he came to be.
