I thought that ALL that Xbox games were compatable with the new 360. For Christmas I bought my nephew 24 older Xbox games for his new Xbox 360 and he says that not a single one will play on it. :(

Now I have to go out and buy NEW games that are specifically designed for the new XBOX 360 version.


What gives?

Backwards compatibility is only available for a select number of games. As time wears on, they add more to the library, but I'm not even sure they'll complete the library. The bigger titles like Halo and KOTOR run on the 360.

I think all those games are trash (I guess im just used to older games (Commodore,etc)) 80s type games

Its stupid they dont support thier older games in newer consoles,TOTALLY STUPID!!!!!!! (But not surprising)

plus you have to be hooked up to xbox live to download the updates for backwards compatibility

The xbox and the 360 have totally different processors. Basically your emulating the xbox. I think you can get the updates with Xbox live silver, which is free.
