content of this book is below.

---------------------------
Nariyoki Hayasi who is an associate professor of medical science try to a new treatment.
It's called low-temperature-brain-treatment.

The low temperature of brain doesn't take a lot of nutrition nor oxygen. It can maintenance of the brain of a patient in cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR). It's hard to keep being low temperature because low temperature is easily causes infection disease to a patient. But Hayasi developed the technology for keeping low temperature.
A lot of patients have been saved them lives by the treatment.

---------------------------

But I guess it's not just a treatment.
It can step toward the practical use of cold-sleep.

Feb. 6, 1974, in Norway, a child fell into cold river accidentally. The child was found 40 minutes after. He was in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and His temperature was 24 degrees C(75.2 degrees F). But the child would be resuscitation without any after effect.
The doctor who treated the child contributed the article to the Jun.7.1975 issue of Lancet(http://www.thelancet.com/)

Apr. 8, 1997, in Hokkaido as Northern Japan, also another boy fell into sea accidentally. The boy was into water about 30 minutes, and was in cardiopulmonary resuscitation 1 hour. His temperature was 26 degrees C(78.8 degrees F). But the child would be resuscitation by low-temperature-brain-treatment.

It's like trial production of cold-sleep, isn't it?

But probably the cold sleep technology will not be studied in Japan because it'll be illegal in Japan.:(

.:(

I don't understand how a person could survive that long submerged with no oxygen to the brain?
But I've heard tell of such things--once this happened to a child who fell into a swimming pool with cold water, in the US.

Children seem to be a lot more resilient near death than us adults.
