Well, during these hectic days before Xmas I’d rather talk about holidays and presents and other things of the sort. Are they going to scare us with that polonium infection in Xmas night as well? Me being well fed up with it.
Perhaps that poor guy Litvinenko was murdered in a political killing but that’s British Intelligence’s domain. Why on earth should we listen to that rubbish every day?
And why don’t we cry at every corner then…. about other political assassinations in Europe and USA, some of them being rather exotic? Most of them stay a baffling mystery, say the killing of Kennedy clan men in America. And there’s lots of less prominent victims of political killings in European countries. There have been murdered the Holland celebrity Teo Van Gogue in 2004 and foreign minister Anna Lind in Sweden dating back to 2003 and the assistant of trade minister in Italy in 2002 (whatsisname?) and others.
Well, and there are umpteen political killing of journalists and judges and minor officials here in Europe and over the sea in USA. In most cases those to blame haven’t been found and put behind bars so far.
It’s really useful to spot all those cases if we really want to improve our life here. Instead we have to listen daily for nearly a month already about misfortunes of ex-Soviet spy Litvinenko and some fishy folks he tangled with….well… including that pesky man Berezovsky. They say he is no stranger to the notorious killing of Forbes chief editor Paul Khlebnikov in Moscow. And he’s suspected in killing of Litvinenko as well. Let him go to Russia to Russian investigators. I think it should be Russian big headache, not ours…. especially with the X-mas pending!!
