Wow, i can't believe noone started one... not that I'm DYING to talk about it because its about to start in about 2 and a half hours, AND because the hype has been on TV 24-7.. but i thought a sports section can't be complete without a mention of the "game to end all games"...
I have Ohio state winning... Jim Tressel and Troy Smith are Michigan Kryptonite...

I think Bo Schembechler died on purpose to inspire Michigan.

It was a very exciting game between two great teams. Ohio State is just a little too strong for Michigan - and every other team in the country.

Why did they call this game "the greatest college game ever played"?
Even before the kick-off.

Thankfully, no. But the non-stop talk about this game for pretty much the last month or more gets old when you're the fan of a different Big 10 university with a lousy football team.

Lousy?? Surely you don't mean the mighty Bowl-bound Golden Gophers, the valiant vanquishers of North Dakota State and noble rescuers of Floyd the Pig?

My question is.. if you are #2 and you lose to #1.. how can you fall that much in the polls? You are SUPPOSED to lose, hence you are #2... Common sense says Michigan vs. Ohio State, round 2 in the National title game.

It also gets old when your Big 10 team is also 11-1, with only a loss to Michigan, and you have no shot at a BCS bowl because only two teams from one conference are allowed to compete. Since the BCS types don't like to have two teams play for the national championship who have already played, Michigan will likely end up in the Rose Bowl, with USC playing Ohio State. That would leave Wisconsin playing in a non-BCS bowl. If you're not Ohio State or Michigan you get no respect.

Don't forget destroyers of Kent State. And losers of Paul Bunyan's Ax and Little Brown Jug.

I'll bet it looked pretty good the next day when you beat the Seahawks too.

Michigan still stands a chance, if SC looses to their cross-town rival, UCLA. Trust me, I have a noose tied around a teddy bear's neck and have been dragging it around the office all week, much to the dismay of the company president, a UCLA alumnist.

As a Wisconsin fan, I would prefer that should USC lose, another 11-1 team get to play Ohio State. Michigan had their chance, and it was a great game. Now it's someone else's turn. Actually I kind of hope that USC wins this weekend. I think USC vs Ohio State would be interesting. I do feel that Wisconsin is getting little respect this year, and that they deserve to be in one of the BCS bowls. Unfortunately, the rule is that only two teams from one conference can be in the BCS.
On the other hand, next year is going to be interesting. Wisconsin is only graduating six starters and seven players overall. The core of this team will be back, and ought to have a very good chance at winning the Big 10 outright next year.

Wisconsin would be a pretty good matchup, but I dont think they have what it takes to beat Ohio. Not this year anyway. You're right though, there's been a lot of talk nationwide about Wisconsins chances for next year.
I've always been a softie for the underdogs, and if Wisconsin can pull it off next year, they'll have my support. Unless they play SC.

It would be interesting to see Wisconsin and Ohio State, but I don't expect it. Unfortunately a young Wisconsin team went into Michigan's stadium and lost the first conference game. They improved week after week throughout the season, but that loss will remove them from the BCS bowls this year. I think we might match up better against Ohio State than we did against Michigan, and I personally think we would have a pretty good chance of beating either of those teams on a neutral field. Of course I am a little biased as an analyst.
Still we will go to the Capitol One Bowl, and I expect that we will have a pretty good shot at winning that. Personally, I am hoping for a rematch with Auburn. One of my co-workers, an Auburn alumnus, has been whining all year that the only reason Auburn lost last year was that they just didn't take Wisconsin seriously. It would be good to shut him up with another drubbing.
