20-year-old Bryan James Hathaway of Superior, Wisconsin allegedly had sex with the deer corpse after he found it on the roadside on October 11 this year. Authorities say he told police that he noticed the deer lying in a ditch, and then moved the corpse into the woods.

OK look, the guy sincerely apologized, and he'd admittedly had a little too much to drink.
But why does the dead deer get off scott-free in our twisted and prejudicial society?

* Why did the Sheriff’s Department not question the dead deer?
It’s important in any criminal investigation to gather both sides of the story.
What if the dead deer asked for it?
Who knows how long she had been giving Hathaway the eye?
How long was he expected to resist that ‘come hither’ look the deer had been giving him through the wood line and at the roadside over the past few months?

*Is this less about some guy f@#king a dead deer, and more a statement about our society?
An indictment of our culture?
Hathaway, an otherwise respectable white male, is automatically assumed to be guilty, and the “small dun colored doe” is the innocent victim.
Is this whole thing racially-motivated? What if the deer had been large and white, (and alive as well) and had been caught trying to have sex with a small, black or Hispanic person?
Would the shoe be on the other hoof, so to speak, and would the deer be in jail right now?

There’s something seriously wrong in the State of Wisconsin when a God-fearing, tax-paying citizen is automatically assumed to be guilty before proven innocent, and crucified in the press for a simple, tender act of affection and human road-side kindness.

Thank God I live in Alabama, where the rules of law still apply, and where a respectable middle-aged man can still throw down a six pack and then lay down with dead animals without fear of persecution!!

If Hathaway is convicted, he could serve up to two years in prison, because of a previous conviction in 2005 for shooting dead a horse called Bambrick. So that he could have sex with it.
A lot of good the prison sentence did the first time. At least this time he picked something already dead and likely rotty. He should have done serious time for killing the horse.

Actually Decka...that is how I feel... thus the oral sex comment. Except the horse killing part, he should have received a lot of time for that. Otherwise, waste of court time.

It might however be a tad damaging to some little family out for a nice afternoon hike to find a some numbnuts in a ditch with the deer. But I doubt Bamby was caring what he were doing to mummy. So what this guy did was publicly disgusting, (not to mention mentally twisted) and can not be allowed just for that reason alone.
