I love the old time Christmas songs and hymns. That's beautiful music.

Not quite ready for Christmas tho--concentrating now on Thanksgiving, a holiday sadly overlooked anymore because the Pilgrims all sucked and stole land and killed all the Indians, that is, when they weren't hanging witches, and also because it's a holiday you don't have to spend a lot of money on, so it's overlooked by the retailers, who start pushing the Yuletide before Labor Day.

I have a strict rule - no Christmas until after Thanksgiving.

I think that's why God made iPods. To keep holiday cheer from ruining a perfectly beautiful day

My rule's a litle more strict than Lionel's.....no holiday spirit until after my birthday.

Bah HumbugSpeaking of iPods...those things are making many people totally anti-social. People just turn up the music while shopping and won't even give eye contact. I was standing next to a woman in a drug store last week. We were both viewing the shelf in search of our sought after items. I made a comment and got zero response. When I checked her out to see if she was rude or hearing impaired I discovered she was indeed hearing impaired but it was chosen. :(

Come north, we have snow and Christmas lights and nasty little icy roads... you will be so happy that you got home in one piece and that the wine is chilled you will be happy all season. :D

I don't have to go north for the snow and ice Sal, it's one of the things I'm growing to dislike about the season. Christmas was fun for me as a child, and if I had children I'm sure I'd enjoy the season very much, but as it stands, it's just a season of people becoming increasingly irritable and frantically rushing about. I chafe at the obligatory financial burden and I'm a complete prick to buy a gift for. ;-)

In the interest of full disclosure, part of the reason for my misanthropy regarding Christmas is because my first name is featured in the title of a prominent carol, and every year some wag who thinks they're being original feels compelled to serenade me.

I hate driving on winter roads. I am seriously wanting snow tires but my car is too old and I won't get a new one till this one dies and my mechanic says she'll live a couple more years for sure. :(

Christmas was fun for me as a child, Ah, you were probably greedy and spoilt...like me... :D

I chafe at the obligatory financial burden and I'm a complete prick to buy a gift for. ;-)Allow yourself to become the true prick that you really are and ... well... quit buying... myself...well I just like to get... ;) And I have found that a detailed Christmas list placed strategically under a magnet on the fridge door is quite helpful in making certain that no stone is left unturned so to speak.

Hmmm thanks for the info... I shall send you a special singing card and you can mail me a nice expensive gift... K? :D
