OK Question for all you computer geek/nerds and just plain cool cats.
I have a seanix PC
It is a Pentium 4 Cpu 2.20Ghz
224MB of Ram
My virtural memory is
initial size 512
maximum size 1024
not sure what else to say about it or info you need
I am running a game called Guild wars and I have all three builds installed and it is lagging really bad.
The game usage is 1,816.00MB
So other then killing my computer what should I do?

Upgrade your RAM. 224 MiB isn't nearly enough for gaming. You need probably a gig.

Yup.
I also found that at least with my computer, it was overheating frequently (and slowing down tremendously) when I had it in a cubbyhole. Taking the side off of it and leaving it open to the air helps a lot for that.
If you're really into gaming, get a fridge for your comp

hehe Thanks guys.
I called a friend after this and he says I have a 256MB and yes I need at least a 1GB to run my guild wars and keep it from lagging so bad. I could get away with 512MB but if I am going to upgrade I should just do it right. I hear you on the heating up part. My fan just died on the Canadian thanksgiving weekend and I was frantic for a new fan and took what I could get that weekend. It sucked it was really loud the fan, but I put it in and was surprise how easy it was to do. lol but I ordered one from the seanix factory and it runs so quiet again yeah... just need it to kick some ass for my game to run now.
The other thing that sucks is my sound card is part of my mother board so My game needs 16 bit card should I add a 16 bit card in or leave it with what it has?

Depends. Are you happy with your sound performance or not? It won't make a bit of difference on your speed.
One other thing I would recommend is a new video card. Because you apparently have 256 MiB of actual, physical RAM, but Windows reports it as 224 MiB, you probably have onboard video sucking up that 32 MiB. Onboard video is not adequate for gaming. You'd need to figure out what kind of expansion slots you have available (PCI, AGP, PCI-Express x16) to do that. If all you have are PCI, your goose is pretty much cooked because it's not a wide enough bus for video cards, thus very few PCI video cards are made, and no decent ones. A motherboard/CPU upgrade would be in order in that case. You have, presumably, a Northwood Pentium 4 @ 2.2 GHz, which is okay, but not that great.
However, check your expansion slots. You might get lucky and find out that you have an AGP.

Thanks for your help
I am now running with a 1.21GB RAM then I have a 32 bit on board video card. I had installed a 16 bit sound card.
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
I started my game and I am in heaven. Good to have all of your help. Thanks
