As you maybe know, German Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier is now on a visit to Central Asian countries in connection with EU-Central Asian cooperation.

Huh, I think it's useless. In any event, Washington is much ahead of the EU in terms of taking the grip of Central Asian countries. Americans have long ago extended their influence over CA and will never relax hold on this territory for it is a very important strategic point undoubtedly.

I wonder what Hans are building upon. As far as I understand, they seek ways to diversify energy carrier sources with an eye not to be completely dependent from Russian O&G supplies. Anyway I think they will have to do without Central Asian O&G, or eat humble pie and agree to be in the grasp of the US which is known to have the snatch of a bulldog. This means that Americans will be in a position to cut off the EU at any moment, hence they may bulldoze Brussels just the way they do with the help of Ukraine.

Besides, there is one more reason for George Bush to stranglehold CA region. It is drug business, of course. It is no secret already that Administration of president Bush draws huge income from this enterprise - about $4,3bln (!) annually and so this is transparent they will never give it away.

What isn't an important strategic point for the Americans?

I know you are a worthless hit-and-run poster, but should you arrive again, you can explain how the US has been exerting control over the 'Stans.

Hmmmm, that was certainly a secret from me and I read through the federal budget.
