Can never understand all these sentences handed out in America. Why not just give him life and be done with it.

Cue the TV music soundtrack.
June Cleaver: Good morning, boys. Sit down and eat your breakfast before it gets cold!
The Beaver: Sure thing, mom. Say, this looks good, what is it?
Wally: You goof, that’s oatmeal. You mean to say you’ve never eaten oatmeal?
The Beaver: G-gee, Wally. Just cause a little kid eats breakfast every day, doesn’t mean he’s an expert or anything.
June Cleaver: That’s enough, boys. Don’t dawdle Beaver, you’ll miss the school bus.
The Beaver: Okay, Mom. (begins downing his breakfast)
June Cleaver: Are you riding with Eddie Haskell today Wally?
Wally: Naw. His jalopy’s in the shop again. I’m gonna go pick him up, and then we’re gonna stay after school for ball practice.
The Beaver: I’m done I guess. And anyway, there’s my bus. See ya Wally, see ya Mom.
June Cleaver: Have a great day, Beaver. (kisses him on the head and then shooh’s him out the screen door) OK, Wally. Here’s the plan; After school, you’re going to ditch Eddie Haskell, and meet me at Johnson’s Drug Store.
Wally: Uh huh?
June Cleaver: I’m going to pick up the barbiturates, and then we’re going to go initiate a new little fish this afternoon.
Wally: Yeah, who is it?
June Cleaver: Lumpy Rutherford’s little cousin, Larry. He’s staying with the Rutherfords for the next month. And my-oh-my is he a tender little morsel! We are going to have so much fun bringing him around.
Wally: I can’t wait. Are you going to drug Mrs. Rutherford so that we can take our time and have some real fun? I can bring my Polaroid Land Camera.
June Cleaver: Excellent plan. Bring that, the KY jelly, a load of shop-towels, and some baling wire.
Wally: ‘Kay, Mom. Sounds like a plan. See you at three o’clock then.
June Cleaver: (kisses her son on the cheek on his way out the door) Have a good day, son. And good luck on that Math test this afternoon. I really want you to pull that ‘C’ up to a ‘B’ if you can. You’re never going to get into college with those kind of grades!!
Wally: Sure thing, Mom. ‘Later!!

I hope he actually lives to be 500 years old. Let him live life without being able appreciate it.

CROWN POINT, Ind. (AP) - A mentally retarded man told a judge Friday he raped and killed five women and a teenage girl more than a decade ago, prosecutors said.
As part of an agreement with prosecutors, Eugene Britt, 48, pleaded guilty but mentally ill to only three murders. Lake County prosecutors said Britt would be sentenced to 245 years in prison.
Last week, the judge ruled he was mentally retarded and could not get the death penalty.
Defense attorney Gojko Kasich said his client has injuries suffered from being hit by a train during a 1995 suicide attempt after the killings. Britt already is serving life in prison plus 100 years for the 1995 slaying of an 8-year-old girl.
Long time gone (http://www.guardian.co.uk/worldlatest/story/0,,-6131521,00.html)
These super long sentences do have a bit more appeal to them than simply ".. life without parole .. ". Give more of these cretins muliple century penalties - maybe more than they can count - and perhaps, slowly word will get to the dregs of society that folks just are not going to tolerate certain behaviors and while those that judge may spare the life of the criminal they also don't pull punches.

Interesting story out of Crown Point, the county seat of the area from which I was born and raised.
Dillinger escaped from the Crown Point "escape-proof" jail, using a "wooden" gun--actually a real gun he had paid his lawyer $5, 000 for and had smuggled in. To top off his escape, he drove off in the sheriff's car.
I've always said, there's crooks, and then there's CROOKS. You either have class or you don't, no matter what your pursuasion or profession. These men deserve their ferocious sentences. OTOH, Dillinger never hurt kids or women, robbed banks not people, and only killed one person, a cop in a gun battle by accident. Still, he was facing the electric chair for that, as well he knew. They didn't mess around in those days.
