RATM/ Cornell Album release confirmed
December 6, 2001
Epic records has confirmed a "tentative" release date of Feb 26, 2002 for the RATM/ Cornell untitled release. At the current time the name of the new band is unknown. The new group has reportedly recorded 20 songs although there is no word on how many of these will actually be on the new album.
For all the Aussie RATM fans the BOMC DVD has been released and can be purchased from most CD retailers. Unfortunately it hasn't been released in VHS format yet. Sony Music Australia has confirmed it will be released on VHS although a date for that release is unknown.
Take a look at the following:
[The following article from mtv.com confirms the latest on RATM, Cornell is the new lead singer but the band isn't going to be called RATM. ]
If things don't work out between Rage Against the Machine and singer Chris Cornell, all it'll take is a phone call to get B-Real on the mic. "If they call me, I'm down," the Cypress Hill rapper said. "Hell yeah, that would be a dream to front them. That's like today's Led Zeppelin." B-Real said he jammed with Rage guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Timmy C. and drummer Brad Wilk once, "just vibing it out" on a rendition of Cypress Hill's "How I Could Just Kill a Man." "I told them, 'Hey, if you guys want, I'm here,'" B-Real said. "If not, it's all good." "But I think they're going to take it in another direction. ... I'm sure whatever they do is gonna be great with whoever they go with. I just hope they keep making music." The remaining Rage members are in a Los Angeles-area studio with Cornell, the former frontman for Soundgarden. Bassist Timmy C. told San Jose, California, radio station KSJO-FM last month that they've formed a new group with Cornell, which will not be called Rage Against the Machine.
and also.....
Rage has been nominated for a grammy in the Best Hard Rock Performance category.
The nominees are:
* "Renegades of Funk," Rage Against the Machine
* "Smooth Criminal," Alien Ant Farm
* "Crawling," Linkin Park
* "Alive," P.O.D.
* "Your Disease," Saliva

They are no longer called Rage Against the Machine. Due to the recent break up and get back together with the exception of a few members they have changed the name to Rage.
