Friday 13th Oct
Ireland 61f Sunny.
Three mile bay, NY
Today
Mostly cloudy with a few rain and snow showers likely. Little or no snow accumulation. Windy and cool with highs in the mid 40s. South winds 15 to 25 mph...increasing to 20 to 30 mph. Chance of precipitation 60 percent.
Three hours south of me, oddly enough...
October 13, 2006 6:36 am — A record-setting snow stretching from Buffalo to Rochester last night and this morning has downed scores of tree limbs and power lines and prompted traveler's advisories in Erie, Niagara, Genesee and Orleans counties.
Steve Brady, a spokesman for National Grid, said shortly before 6 a.m. today that 216,000 people were without power and calls were still coming in. Crews had worked throughout the night but were slowed by debris and lightning.

Good idea Paul, what kind of winters do you have there?
We tend to get all the moisture off the Gulf Stream, which is why are winters are very cool and wet, instead of polar bear country. If you look at our latitude,we're in direct line with Labrador Canada, and their winters are nuts, tho a couple of times a year a cold front would spread down from N.Russia and the temp falls thru the floor,as low as -20 at times,we also get the tail end of any Hurricanes that run up the US East Coast,we'll see how it goes.

Atlanta, GA - sunny, nary a cloud in the sky, mid 60's on the patio. Just might (I say again .. just might) get into the low 30's tonite. All the bubble headed weather folks on the local stations are talking it up.

Very few in the U.S. think of the Celcius scale when thinking of temperature.

Gee Paul,
If you think the weather in Ireland is bad, try Connecticut during January, Febuary and into March. You get ice, snow, thaw, mud, freeze, thaw, mud, more ice snow and mud then more cold weather. The entire world turns into various shades of gray and brown. Colors just seem to be faded, like laundry done one time too many. The days are much shorter, the cold omnipresent. Nothing to do. Those days seem to last forever, dammit.

Darth,if I lived in a country were I could drive to summer weather in Janurary I would to it,go fishing in Florida for a month.

P.S. Sal, sounds COLD in ONT. But that could be due to my celsius impairment. 11 degrees C would be????It was about 52 degrees..it's starting to get nippy. Your's on the other hand sounds quite nice right about now. For me changing from fall to winter is the hardest part... my body still craves those higher digits. Once the winter is here the blood has thicken and you adjust (somewhat).
