Its ok,dont panic, you only think that when you reach your 40s/50s your starting to get a bit long in the tooth, but I man has just died,AGED 126.

Reminds me of the answer George Burns, after reaching 100, gave to the question as to the secret of reaching old age, to which he replied "don't die."
I plan on living to be 120, just so I don't have to go thru my mid-life crisis til I'm 60.

I've been reading some articles on people who lived to be very old. It says there are over 15000 people over the age of 100 in Japan. One thing that strikes me is that most of these old people revealed in interviews that they credit their longevity to very healthy living and extremely regular living schedule. Basically their bodies get used to doing the exact same thing at the same time every day, and intaking very familiar food in roughly the same amount again around the same time every day -- for 50+ years. It sounds really, really boring.

Yes,if you dont smoke, dont drink, dont eat fatty food, exercise daily[even when you cant be arsed],eat raw fish and are in bed by 8pm,you could live to a ripe old age.
But then again, why would you want to.
I think there is some truth to that though, Dio. I was talking to a lady who tends ole folk for a living. She was taking care of a guy who was 99, still living in his house, and had drank a shot of brandy every night since he was in his 30's. He swore that was the secret to life. She- for whatever god known reason- diluted it and he died before he turned 100. I told her it was her fault he died.

Sounds to me like they've found a level of contentment we all are in search of, they just achieve it by more bland means.

why live that long? very very very few people live to the age of 90 without being half blind, deaf, and can barely walk to go to the bathroom to take a shit on your own. get too old? no fucking thanks. i can die at any moment now. i've done my evolutionary part. i bred. twice. and i'm 41.

Well Im 43 Ivan,4 kids and aint even close to packing it in.Gonna divorce her next year head to the airport and kiss Ireland goodbye.
Most folks want to go to heaven, but no one wants to be on the next load.
I believe most of us can only try to enjoy something everyday, and when the end comes, what the hell.
Live while you can and don't take no crap.

You can afford and have the patience for an Irish divorce? You're a better man than I, Gunga-din. Neither of my divorces took longer than 90 days or had court costs exceeding $300.

Try this-
take off hubcap from wife's tire, fill with small pebbles, replace. ( wear gloves).
tire will go flat within a few miles, maybe when crossing a train track.
Remember you didn't hear it here, and I meant to suggest this to windwip about his roommate but forgot.

How does that make a tire flat? The noise may serve to drive her nuts, but how on earth would putting pebbles inside the wheel cover affect the air pressure inside the tire?

I read about it in a true crime book.
I've never tried this myself, but have always wondered if such a thing were possible.
Maybe someone here can attempt an experiment?

There are plenty of methods that may be utilized to disable a vehicle at the most inopportune of times, not a one that I'm aware of involves pebbles (or even rocks) in the wheel covers.
