View Full Version : Buddhism changes your live!

It was not very long ago – only about ten years – that I discontinued being a Moslem. See, I had to be a Moslem because I came of a Moslem family, so I simply had no choice. I need to say that when I grew up I fully realized that Islam is not for me. That is why I adopted Buddhism. I must admit that Buddhism is a sort of religion that absolutely suits my own world view. What I really like in Buddhism is that it does not control behavior of the believers by means of afterlife retribution threats. That's why there is no such concept as mortal sin in Buddhism. The superior purpose of Buddhism is absolution of spirit in the land of the living and beyond the veil. That's what fully corresponds the modern meaning of "liberty of conscience". As for Islam, it conversely enslaves its apologists by numerous limitations and restrictions and turns them into obedient puppets. In Buddhism you may gain the true liberty and live exactly the way you want to, which is impossible in Islam.

Buddhism is definitely a more practical religion - almost atheism actually, but I'm gonna stick with my cynical, rot in the grave, non-spiritual, people are only hunks of flesh belief.

I always wondered why more people weren't atheists :)

I can respect that!

But, just in case mind you, you ever find yourself caught up in a dream that does not seem to end, do not be confused. Have fun.

Welcome aboard, Quang.

Glad too that Buddhism is working for you. (And glad also that you posted that enlightening endorsement of Buddhism as a personal act of sharing, and not a strident, shrill, sales-pitch.)

I don't sense that you are trying to shove your beliefs down anybody's throat, and I admire that.

Good for you, and I'm truly glad that you've achieved happiness and enlightenment.

Frodo is not that bright. He hasn't been introduced to the concept of metaphor.

Perhaps it was the change which preceded ‘Buddhism’.

I was once told that life itself is a dream. Still thinking about that.

We all make our own truths in the end. Life and death are the same, just mirror images, it is you that decides if your going to move on, its not god that is going to save you. Save you from what? yourself, god just reminds us of time that we do not have and at best tries to give us a moral compass, I do not and will not beleave in orginized religion I beleave in myself, there are many cups to drink from in the world, A vast many religions and a lot of good in them all in there own ways, but to me just members only clubs.
