I used to really like Bright Eyes and Elliot Smith. My tastes have changed to more complex music, and I have started to shy away from the lackluster singing abilities of both. But I have an appreciation for their musical vision and lyrical subjects.

15 years ago I never would've guessed that I'd be so out of it at 34.

well.. i dont listen to much radio anymore, and i tune in now and again to "Music Television" to see what messages are being sent.. and what bands are being hand picked... but thats about it... so it doesnt suprise me that a new band could fall under my radar

Bright Eyes is hardly on the radio and is a very "under-ground" band. They never talk about them on MTV either.
