Kirghizia and Uzbekistan and others, those are extremely poor countries. And people there are hungry and seek for any job to earn money, so called opposition including. I think corruption is so widespread here due to this awful poverty. Locals take part in demos to earn money ‘cause they are paid money for participation by “sponsors” of democracy. I take pride in the fact LOL.
Well, far as I know our officials’ stake in opposition camp is former Kirghizia ambassador in the USA Rose Otunbaeva. Actually she’s no second Timoshenko both in looks and job (though the first one is nobody now as well). I bet you Rose is on Washington, D.C. payroll. But it’s just waste of huge money. I was at on of the gatherings and could watch her speaking and dealing with ordinary people. They don’t just understand her, the ideas and wording I mean. And they don’t trust her. I guess she speaks English better than her native language and this is the reason LOL.
Then during my work in this republic I understood that this country is just lagging behind in dark ages. That’s why there is no point to push democracy here. They are not ready yet.
And our diehard politicians and strategists don’t want to see the corruption level of power and opposition unfortunately. Look, Kirghizia nation isn’t ready for democracy changes. Well, I’m sure that our (US) money come here and lost as water in the sand to make some local pols wealthier. But it has nothing to do with democracy imo.
