Mornin everyone
Are there any survivors from Mondays fiasco?
I had a great Christmas. It wasn't a fiasco at all. In fact i thought everything went well this year. Christmas Eve we had my big family dinner. Then Christmas for lunch we went to my parents and for dinner we went to D's parents. Xander was an angel. He let everyone hold him and he did great. I was anticipating the stranger anxiety but I'm thinking he is getting better with that.
Now if we can get this 4 day week over so I can have a 3 day weekend.

Glad to see there were survivors. I'm not sure i'm one of them though. I gave away the rock like a good little boy, and it went striaght from the box to the left hand. I said, "Isn't it supposed to go on the other hand?".
She responded, "No, it fits just fine right here". I'm not sure but I think I screwed myself.

why would she do that? I mean usually a "will you marry me speech" comes before its put on the left hand. Silly girl.

My cousin was coming home for christmas he and his fiancee.. well he was hit head on and well his fiancee is not with us any more and he is in critical condition so my christmas was spent traveling to see him and make sure he fights like hell to live. This year has really sucked for me. I am looking forward to 2007 It freaking can't be worse.

I know they said this week was going to be hell but today was a breeze and I dont see tomorrow being bad either. However Thursday and Friday is our inventory so I'm guessing that's when the hell is going to set in.
I might have to start up drinking again especially since I was informed that I will be a part of a meeting where everyone will be chewed out....except me. He wants me in there to show an example of someone who works. I'm sure everyone will love me after that one. I think that's next week though...hopefully.

Sorry to hear about your loss ShortStuff. I know how hard that is. I've lived through the same scenario only it was my dad and his g/f....she survived but he didn't. It really doesn't get easier with time but you learn to deal with it and go on. Holidays are especially difficult...needless to say, I have very mixed emotions this time of year.
And you really shouldn't say things like "it can't get worse" because soon as ya do.....BAM...something else happens. I have learned that prayers work miracles, so you can really count on the people of this board to send them your direction. I know they've been there for me in the past as I have been there for them when they needed it. Keep the faith and we'll be sending our prayers your direction!!

Don'tcha hate it when they do that?? It only causes friction with the people that you actually have to work with.....don't the bosses realize that? And if they do, why don't they at least compensate for it by throwing in a couple extra $100 in the pay envelope that week?????

Mine was OK... usual family stuff. Got some ugly clothes from my s-i-l (can always tell when my bro isn't up to doing his own shopping -- he has much better taste than she does). So spent yesterday upgrading the ugly and spending gift cards.

Mine pretty much sucked....and I'm sure you know why. Did get lots of new clothes that I had asked my mother for....she got everything on my list from Coldwater Creek  That was the best part....well, ok, and spending the time with them.
Asshole made life difficult as well as his family....they decide at the last minute to change the plans, ask me for my preference and when I tell them, they wait a few more days to tell me "No, that won't work....pick another day".....so, you know me, I told them to shove it where the sun don't shine and went to mom's....spent the whole weekend down there.
The only items I have to return is what I bought for him.....jacket is too small and he hated the new footpegs......grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....I think he's just doing it to live up to his nic ;)

Corn Flakes with drizzles of Bailey's.
I had a slight difference of opinion with a Liquor lady yesterday.
I overheard a conversation she had with a customer.
Seems there's a new type Bailey's,that is a Wine.
I didn't believe.They dint have a bottle,because their waiting on
a new shipment. But they had an article on this new type Bailey's
from Ireland.Turns out it is Wine-based,as far as alc. content.
13% vs.18%. Wine cannot be called wine if not made from grapes.
Kinda like Mogan David 20/20.It's actually FORTIFIED Wine.
Kinda like Port.

This happened on a flight getting ready to depart for New Orleans,Louisiana.
Jack was sitting on the plane when a guy took the seat beside him. The guy was a wreck, pale, hands shaking, moaning in fear.
What's the matter?" Jack asked.
"I've been transferred to New Orleans; there's crazy people there. They've got lots of shootings, gangs, race riots, drugs and the highest crime rate."
Jack replied, "I've lived in New Orleans all my life. It's not as bad as the media says. Find a nice home, go to work, mind your own business, enroll your kids in a nice school and it's as safe as anywhere in the world."
The guy relaxed and stopped shaking and said, "Oh, thank you. I've been worried to death. But if you live there and say it's OK, I'll take your word for it. What do you do for a living?"
"Me?" said Jack. "I'm a tail gunner on a Budweiser truck."

So... it was dark & pouring rain when my dad and I ventured out to my brother's house. I was driving, he was navigating.
"Turn left where that car ahead is turning."
I did. We parked in front, unloaded all the presents... dad beat me to the front door, opened it and walked right in.
To the wrong house.
Oops! We turned one street too soon.
Poor lady was so flustered, she invited us in anyway, but I politely declined and apologized for disturbing her. She probably saw all those gifts and thought she'd struck the motherlode.
Shoulda had her door locked in the first place... bet she did after we left.

I had someone walk into my house last week too! Next door neighbor was having a Christmas party, but I guess my house looked more inviting or something. And I always have my door locked (hello, live alone) but for some reason I didn't this time. It was hilarious. She and her husband just walked in and said "Merry Christmas, Libby!"
They refused to leave their bottle of wine with me. Durn them. heh heh.

Glad we weren't the only ones, Mary! Funny thing was, this lady started explaining to us what she was doing... something like, "I'm sorry, I was just sitting in my chair..." Guess that was her reaction to having two total strangers step into her living room! One would think I would've noticed her porch was painted blue BEFORE we got to the door, but noooooooo.
Oh well, the more the merrier I always say!

Smarty, dont you know that the pilot is always the captain of the boat? (cept on big boats, then the captain is too drunk to drive) the navigator is only there to offer suggestions. So the way I see it, YOU made the mistake, so don't go round sayin it was all his idea.

Smarty, dont you know that the pilot is always the captain of the boat? (cept on big boats, then the captain is too drunk to drive) the navigator is only there to offer suggestions. So the way I see it, YOU made the mistake, so don't go round sayin it was all his idea.
Anxiously awaiting a right cross to come out of my screen

Someone left the cake out in the rain.
And I don't think that I can take it,
'Cuz it took so long to make it,
And I'll never have that recipe again.
Richars Harris - Macarthur Park -.
Does it have somethin ta dude with Camelot.?
Harris was a purdy good Actor.
He was tough ta boot -- This Sporting Life - {1963}
- Cromwell - {1970} an important Drama.
I also liked - Wrestling Earnest Hemingway - {1003}
Oh ! Alkso did - Caprice - {1967} with Doris Day.
Doris Day is a Saint.
Her love of Dogs & Cats has already earned her Heaven.

But OK... I admit it... it was totally my fault for listening to his directions. Gimme a little slack, though -- he also tells me to GO when lights turn green or the coast is clear at stop signs. In other words, he's a back-seat driver who rides in the front.

OSG mighta been sick, but he was still bad enough to kick yer lil scrawny butt from Michigan to New Orleans and back.
And maybe his death is not a surprise to you... but I bet it was to him. Here's hoping you live to be old enough so when you die, people will say, "Oh well, he was old."

Bondage, A california verb. To bind and gag, then toss in trunk while traveling. Married men have been known to use this method on their wives.
Sheets, huh? I tell you what. I'll come over and test yours, then you can come and test mine. Sound like a plan?

(and not to worry... nobody would!)
LOL, reminds me of a prank me and a friend TRIED to pull when I was in elementary school. We decided that it was possible that we both fell in a field on the way to school and both sprained our ankles. Told that story to the school nurse when we did finally get to school, but guess what? NOBODY believed us!
Learned a valuable lesson that day... if you're gonna lie, better do a damn good job of it or you're gonna get caught.

Wanna explain what you mean that that statement, or shall I just bend you over my checkered apron right now and get it over with?

Hey Smarty....do you remember those two girls that were drunk and out too late and didn't wanna get in trouble with their parents so they locked themselves in the trunk....with a cell phone.....and called to say they had been kidnapped??? I think they discovered their car at some lake around here.....seems like it was last year sometime.

Did you read the advice I gave to Shortstuff the other day about the same subject? I very seldom have to use it anymore, but one night during the holidays I was so keyed up, I had to 'talk myself' to sleep... and it worked.
1. Get comfortable.
2. Start concentrating on relaxing your toes.
3. Move up your body (ankles, calves, knees, etc.)
4. When you get to your chest, take a deep breath and feel how cool the air is going in.
5. When you get to your brain, picture someplace soothing and relaxing and force conscience thoughts out of your mind.
Guaranteed to put you to sleep... or your money back.
:)

I'll try that tonight, Smartie. Lately I've been wondering if I have that stupid restless leg syndrome. I'll be just about to fall asleep and then I itch somewhere, or my leg twitches. Honestly, I feel like I have ants crawling on me. It's awful.
Maybe I'll just drink some likker tonight.

LOL @ restless leg syndrome. Ain't it a shame we have to have commercials for self-diagnosis?
Well, I heard putting a bar of soap under your mattress relieves leg cramps. Not sure if it helps RLS, but wouldn't hurt to give it a try!

Durn them. heh heh.
I missed the punch line.
Were they supposed to also leave an envelope.
Y'know ...with a few fresh C-notes.
Er some such stuff n such.
