Well, Y-woman project is what I call an Orangatang job... if only we could teach them to read, they could do it as well as me! But this one won't last too long since I've got a helper. I'm sure her projects will get tougher between now and the end of Feb.

Mornin everyone!! It's sooooooooo nice to not have to be at work this week :D

Sorry about no phone calls Mama, but Kimi didn't quite make it exactly when she said she would....she decided to "take a little tour" of Fort Worth before meeting me....if ya git my drift!! lol She did finally make it to the restaurant and we had a very nice lunch and visit. Wasn't near long enough, as far as I'm concerned but she still had another 3 hours or so driving to her folks' place and if I know her, she probably did a little more "touring" before she got there too. It was too bad Smarty was feeling well enough to join us but hopefully we will get together again when she is on her way home next weekend.

She should be checking in sometime this week too...she said she would have computer access, so I'm sure she'll be around sometime soon.

Well, I'm off to do some shopping and see what all kind of trouble I can get into this week. See y'all workin stiffs later!!!

I'm sure you can find SOMETHING fun to do this week.

*koff koff koff*

Sorry I missed the party, but glad you and Kimi had fun! Check back in after you go shopping and tell us what you bought US!!!

If all she passed out is mindless tasks, then who's handling the complexities? Or is she placing them on a back burner, hoping they might go away all by themselves?

It's one thing to test your ranks by handing them simple tasks, but it server no purpose, except to feed their ego. She shouls have considered dumping the nightmare problems out, and seeing who could survive the onslaught. That way, she would know who she can depend on, and who she cant.

There I go, back seat management again.

I almost spend that much this weekend, but reconsidered when I came to my senses and thought it was a little too soon for diamonds. So I spent 20 bucks on a candy dish instead. Pearls look nice in a candy dish, dont they?

Mary, I havent taken it back. I'm still looking for just the right one, the one that will make your eyes glow.

This is going to be my first Christmas without what used to be my family, so I'm entering uncharted territories. For me, it's going to have to be about presents, cause the people aren't going to be there.

Sorry to hear that, Ride. I know how tough the holidays can be. I'm not going to be putting up a tree this year, cause it'll just be me at home for the most part. Seems sad to put up a big ol tree for just me.

But, I'm gonna be giving donations to my favorite charities and stuff like that. That always gives me a happy glow.

Well when Xander gets older then I will probably spend a few hundred on him but he's going to be 2 days shy of 7 months this Christmas so he won't have to have much at all. Besides my parents will probably spend $300 on him every year for the rest of their lives so he won't go without.

I'm thinking if I can get by with spending around $300 on everyone then I'll be in good shape. But I'm buying a new living room suit after the first of the year so you could say I'm going to go all out on myself this year!

yeah, you are a mgmt specimen, OK. Actually this project has been around for several years and is just now beginning to wind down... so there'll be lots of 'simple tasks' required to get all the ducks in a row. I don't mind that mindless stuff FOR AWHILE. And especially enjoyed today's because the guy I was working with is a Dallas history buff and since I've worked for a few movers & shakers here myself... we had fun comparing notes and gossiping about old money. Dallas may not have a real J.R. Ewing, but believe me, we've got more than our share of colorful family characters.

How come I see this at the bottom of your posts?
"This message is hidden because Foolsworth is on your ignore list."

Does that me *I* have him on ignore, or you do? Because if it's supposed to be me, then I have no idea how I put him there except to say it must be fate.

*blank look*

i put it on ignore and when i saw that messege instead of any of it's posts... i thought it would make a great signature. and that is the sentence at the bottom of my posts. :D

I'd like to know how he ignored him myself. That way I dont have to witness his obsession with Corey's brother.

click on the id, go to the profile and somewhere it reads "add so-and-so to your ignore list" click on it.

Gotta luv the way my new 'work partner' thinks. We've nearly finished the project they wanted done by 12/15. So he sez, "Let's knock off and get back together around 1 p.m. so we don't finish up until this afternoon. (Y-woman will be out tomorrow so he doesn't wanna let her know we're done until Monday.) Gotta luv this guy.

Hey, have you started that book I recommended? Just wondering what you thought.

Mary, would you believe I'm STILL WAITING for that book to show up at the library? It's been a fiasco and I shoulda gone out and bought it! I requested it online... then went to the library to see if it was there yet. They said I was too early, it would take a while longer. Then I got a letter from the library saying it was in.... and by the time I got there (one day before they told me my request would expire), they had already put it back... although who knows, because they couldn't find it!! I put in another request AND gave them an email address to notify me, so it should be here by this weekend. Hope so... sounds like good reading!

But my question remains... what the heck happened to the dewey-decimal system? It's no wonder libraries can't find books nowdays!?

*grumble*

Nice to be invited... but could ya move a little closer?

LOL, just been reading in Ask Yahoo about people's worst Thanksgivings ever. Pretty funny. One lady said she woke up early to put her turkey in the oven and it was still frozen solid! After trying to fit it in the sink, she gave up and decided to put it in the biggest watering hole in the house... the jacuzzi! Said it looked real funny bobbin around in there, but thought the massage must've done it some good because it was the tenderist turkey ever!!

Wish you luck with dinner! Do y'all have a Luby's nearby just in case?

Dont have a Luby's, but we do have a Boston Market. So if i totally screw up, I have a backup plan. The jacuzzi sounds like a good idea, but I'm not so sure about the chlorine taste

Yeah, Ride, you need to be in Boston. Texas would be okay too.

Smarty, I miss Luby's. Best cafeteria ever.

Sorry about the library being such a disappointment.

Mary, are you familiar with Pappa's? Around here they own cajun seafood places (Pappadeux) and mexican food places (Pappasitos)... and I heard recently they just bought Luby's! Oughta be good -- they're pretty much known for quality stuff.

Yeah, the library's been a pain, but it'll be OK once I get the book. In the meantime, been reading a funny one -- Triggerfish Twist by Tim Dorsey. Ever read it? Pretty cute... about a 'normal' couple who move into an 'anything but normal' neighborhood in Tampa. Good light reading.

Had a Nice restaurant in Shelbyville, called Claudia Sanders.

Im ready for 4 days off!!!! I'm really hoping to start my Christmas shopping but D won't be up for it because he hates this time of year. So I may be doing the shopping solo this year. My son is a little sick too with yet another cold so I'm hoping he feels better by Friday so we can go eat some egg rolls.

Honey, you better tell Mr. D he's no longer allowed to hate this time of year. He gave up that right when he had a little son who'll soon be in awe of everything Christmas! After all, Christmas is for KIDS, not daddies.

Great time for you to establish your very own Christmas traditions... like letting grumpy daddy babysit while you go out and enjoy a stress-free shopping day!

He is a Scrooge! I practically had to drag him into the Christmas section at Wal-mart this past weekend. His mother passed away last Christmas Eve so I know that's part of his gloomy ways right now. But I am a Christmas fanatic! I love to put the Christmas tree up and give people gifts. He already said he would watch Xander while I went shopping but I think he'll probably end up compromising and going at least 1 time with me.

What he doesnt' know is that he is going with me to take his son to get his picture taken with Santa! *evil laugh*
