I didn't see the show on the history channel, did you find out how to get to heaven??? I did start watching Grey's Anatomy, too, but I'm with you on the drama. I'm thinking Six Degrees might turn out to be too dramatic too.

Somebody beer me!!!!! Mary!! Where's the beer?????

My favorite get outta bed was always RISE & SHINE!

Never could understand how anybody could do both at once.

:@@:

As a Kiddie, gettin up to catch the bus and attend Catholic
Parochial school,I don't believe I EVER Rose on the first try.
Me Momsie had to come back to me Bed,and slightly threaten.
Of course, there were times,I had to serve 6AM Mass as an
Altar Boy,then wait around for school to begin, afterwards.
And when I was playin Lightweight Basketball, and It dint end
till near 6 PM,and I'd wait for a Ride home in the dark, durin the
wintertime,I'd Literally be THE First Student at school {6 AM Mass }
and Last student Home, after showering from basketball practice and
waitin for me Momsie to pick me up in schoolyard, after even the
janitor locked up the joint.I mean school.

Hay,Bub,I'm the Beer man hears.:lolhit:
Anchor Steam is Good.I believe it's one of the Largest
Very small brewies in the U.S.In San Francisco.
A very good, consistent Brewer is Samuel Smith.
All their beers are first rate.
I prefer a Rich Porter.Or a creamy Stout.Imperial Stout
that is almost Black, yet lushly rich, foamy and extremely
tiny bubbles, that coat a glass. That's the key to a good Brew.
The Tinyness of bubbles.Big burpy bubbles are always a sure sign
poor brewing or ruined beer.:drinktoth

I was a Home Brewer for more than 5 years.I tried to cook
up a batch,every qtr.{3 months}.It's a learning process.
I never used honey, but did use Baker's chocolate Once.
I've brewed with Mollases and Raspberry.
My best was an Imperial Stout. That's the one I added baker's
chocolate.I used Chinook hops for boiling and Cascade hops
for finishing.Black patent & Chocolate Malt for cooking up.
You have to take reading with a hydrometer for
specific gravity,to know how fermentation develops.
I had logs and diaries of my different beers.
Tjey also have liquid pack Yeast for either Lager or Ale brews.:drinktoth
Lager yeast beers are difficult because they require lower Temps
for storage {fermentation} and it's hard to find a place in the house where
the Temperature remains around 55-60 degrees.
Ale type Yeast beers are pretty easy to Ferment. They need around
70 degree.:drinktoth

ME TOO!!!!

uh oh.

Porter's were The Working Man's choice, many years ago.
Not as strong as some stouts, but just as colorfull and Rich.
Of course,some Stout's are tame.
Take Guiness,for example.The average pilsner,like Buddweiser is
stronger.Guiness is around 3% alc.Guiness is also good for
hangovers.Guniness Marketed a Draft beer that was just
awfull. It came in cans, and had some form of plastic plug in it.
There are Sooooooooooo many really terrific Boutique beers out
there it's almost confounding.
Of course,My favorite Beers are Belgian Trappist Ales.
Very flavorfull & spicy, but rather strong.
They are expensive and many aren't pasteurized.:drinktoth

I attended U.of D. {Dayton flyer} and dated a little chippie
from Springfield, for awhile. It was a little less than an hour's
drive from Dayton. It gave me a break from the Soroity B!tches.
But,I'd always have to drive the llittle chippe back home,in
the middle of the night.Cuz,I'd pick her up,drive back to off-campus,
party and do,well, the deed, then Party and drive her back to springfield,

Yes,that's the plastic pop off valve.
The more it pops, every second or two,the more those little
yeast cells are eating the fermentable sugars and givin off
what we know as Alcohol. It mite take a day or 2 or 3 before the yeast
activates. And sometime the activity is a big burping bubble every 10 - 30 seconds. That gives one an idea'r of how well the batch is fermenting.
Fermentation generally takes a week,more or less.Maybe 2
weeks for full development.

Bowling For Soup

Ohio (Come Back To Texas)
She said she needed a break
a little time to think
but then she went to Cleveland
with some guy named Leelan
that she met at the bank
There's nothing wrong with Ohio
except the snow and the rain
I really like Drew Carey
and I'd love to see the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame
So when your done doing whatever
and when your thru doing whoever
you know Denton County will be right here waiting for you....
Come back to Texas
Its just not the same since you went away
Before you lose your accent
and forget all about the Lonestar State
There's a seat for you at the rodeo
and I've got every slow dance saved
Besides the Mexican food sux north of here anyway
I think I made a mistake
Its not that easy to take
She went to make a deposit
then she cleaned out her closet
Guess I'll sit here and wait
For her to come back home (I'd wish you come back home)
it shouldn't take very long (so long so long)
i bet she misses the sunrise
and misses the fruit flies but i could be wrong
So when your done doing whatever
and when your thru doing whoever
you know Denton County will be right here waiting for you....
Come back to Texas
Its just not the same since you went away
I bet you missed your exit
and drove right on thru the Lone Star State
There's a seat for you at the rodeo
and I've got every slow dance saved
Besides the Mexican food sux north of here anyway
Troy Aikmen wants you back
Willie Nelson wants you back
NASA wants you back
and the Bush twins want you back
and Pantera wants you back
and Blue Bell wants you back
I got a premonition
I'm taking a petition
and the whole state's gonna sign
Come back to Texas
Its just not the same since you went away
Before you lose your accent
and forget all about the Lone Star State
There's a seat for you at the rodeo
and I've got every slow dance saved

Kewl dragon, DRG!! Looks like a good hobby... no sniffing glue or nuthin!

Its become an obsession! I really can't explain it, but I've always loved math and art, and origami allows me to combine the two into something incredible. Then there is the whole masculine vs. feminine thing... Every artist aspires to achieve both masculine and feminine qualities in their art, but origamist have to work very hard to be able to achieve both because origami draws heavily upon masculine qualities because when you fold paper you can only create straight and rigid creases. Softer curves and arcs and achieved by combining many pleats of straight lines to create the illusion of a curve. Technically speaking, the feminine qualities of origami are only an illusion that the artist must create using the masculine qualities of a straight line.

My friends probably think I'm huffing the glue... but then again, they're about as cultured as skim milk.

We've had a few riots, but its usually in response to community outrage because they think its wrong for police officers to shoot and kill criminals when they stick their hands down their pants up to the elbow while running from the cops.

Sometimes I think the entire city is just retarded. Corky Cops and Corky Criminals combined with a community full of Corky's usually results in some type of violence.

SOMERSET, Pa. - Henrietta the chicken was living inconspicuously among 36,000 other birds at Brendle Farms for 18 months — until a foreman noticed she had four legs.

"It's as healthy as the rest," the farm's owner, Mark Brendle, told The Daily American.

Brendle's 13-year-old daughter, Ashley, named the chicken Henrietta after the discovery Thursday. The bird has two normal front legs and, behind those, two more feet. They are of a similar size to her front legs but don't function. The chicken drags her extra feet behind her.

In 30 years of farming, Brendle said, he's never before seen a chicken with four legs.

There's no definitive reason why such deformities happen, said Cliff Thompson, a retired professor of genetics at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. He said it could be an accident of development, akin to a sixth toe on a cat.

Brendle said he jokingly suggested to his family that it sell Henrietta in an Internet auction, but Ashley objected.

Hey ... who do you think you are? - chavez?

Whoa now...

Chavez called Bush the Devil.

Lager called him a boob.

Are you saying boobs are evil??!! Janet Jackson isn't going to like this.....

Her's are evil. The FCC said so by levying a fine against the broadcasters of the Superbowl.

Man, I made some memories in the Superdome. Super Bowl XX, the Stones' Steel Wheels tour, Mardi Gras balls....good times.

Chris Simms' ruptured his spleen and is in critical condition, and Reggie Wayne's brother was killed this morning in a traffic accident in Louisiana. Reggie didn't find out till after the game.....

Then there was the Giants, but that's a whole other kind of tragedy.

You guys seem to be a fairly diverse group of individuals. Are you planning on segregating yourselves in this one little thread or are you going to join in some of the general discussions?

Chat is nice and all that but maybe you will want something of just a bit more substance after a while.

Heyheyhey....I've cruised by another thread! Hell, I've even read a bunch more. A couple of times! On purpose, even.

But yeah, you're right...we are a diverse group. We also break down into shifts....not planned, it just happened that way. You've really only seen the Day Crew so far. I apologize in advance for the Night Crew. edit: Actually,in light of later postings I retract that apology. The night crew are great folks who don't have an agenda to push, like a particular local poster.

Did you see the look on Brady's face? NOT a happy camper! I still don't get why they signed Seau. I haven't looked to see how long his contract is, and granted he's still a hoss, but the best of him got left in San Diego.

I only heard part of the game on the radio so I didn't see his face. I hope it's an expression he'll use many times over the course of the season.

I suspect he will. I'm pulling for Deion Branch to have an excellent season. Kind of like when Marshall Faulk left the Colts, who treated him like crap, and won a ring the following season.

They say divide spring and summer bloomers in the fall and fall bloomers in the spring. I guess you do it when it's not blooming. My asters are blooming now. Does lemon balm bloom?

Jaxwuzhere
09-25-2006, 12:54 AM
I knew I'd have to wait till the asters were done blooming, but wasn't sure on the seasonal thing. Great way to remember tho', kinda like lefty lucy, righty tighty. Kewl, thanks!

The lemon balm blooms tiny, white flowers that have more to do with it's growth and less to do with it's appearance. Mostly, it gets huge. It makes great tea, you can also rub the leaves on your skin to repel mosquitoes and when my son had poison ivy, I simmered some leaves in olive oil to rub on his skin. He said it was amazing....stopped the itch and relieved his misery like calamine never did. Handy stuff I tell ya'!

Thanks for the invite, Frogger, I'll take a look around. The one or two people that have stopped by seem interesting.

Don't let Lager fool ya, he talks politics and religion plenty. (It's called beer and sports, though:lolhit: )

A quick week sounds good to me. A little birdie told me that Homey went and got himself hitched. But there is no evidence of a ring. So now I'm confused. LOL. Hi Pogo!!

It was good thanks. We went to dinner and a movie. We saw "The Covenant". Neither of us really wanted to see but there really wasn't anything else playing. It ended up being an ok movie. Nothing to write about but decent enough to watch. I bought Xander some Halloween pjs. He looked so sweet in them last night. He realized he could squeal and he did it all night last night. His new favorite thing is peek a boo...with a blanket. He likes it when we put a blanket on his head and pull it off.

Last night I woke up with a migraine and then hurled up everything I had eaten. Not that you want to know that but dangum do I feel much better. :woohoo:

Getting close to time to keep the top up on the Spyder until I head for Florida. Gonna do my best to drive with the top down until I leave for Australia on the thirteenth. When I come back to Long Island in November it will be too cold to drive around with the wind whipping the skin on my bald head.
