I WANDERED lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay: 10
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood, 20
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
1804.

Have I told you all lately that I'm really glad to "know" you and count you all as my good friends? Okay.........that's all the mooshy stuff for now!

I'm still trying to catch up on my rest from the weekend. One thing about it, after a weekend like that, you can park the bike for a few days and not miss it too much.

My 'old' boss has returned to us, so I'm not as free to be here as I was. I'll be around....just have to work now, dammit!

the one thing i actually will go to MickeyD's for is their Steak Bagel-that's some good stuff!

Are you kidding me??? Those bagels are so hard. The only reason I ate one is because they got my ordered wrong once and I didn't realize it until I had made it home already. I choked it down but only because I didn't want to cook!

This one definitely deserves a drum roll.

A guy goes in an adult store and asks for an inflatable doll.

Guy behind the counter asks, "Male or female?"

Customer says, "Female."

Counter guy asks, "Black or white?"

Customer says, "White."

Counter guy asks, "Christian or Muslim?"

Customer says, "What the heck does religion have to do with it?"

Counter guy says, "The Muslim one blows itself up."

Has anybody been watching this show for the past several weeks??

Absolutely amazing. And appalling.

They've been setting up 'stings' using the internet and a decoy (male & female) who claim to be 12-15 years old and home alone. On last week's show, they nabbed 22 men who showed up at the address the 'kid' gave them. Most with condoms and bags of burgers from McDonalds. And more than once, two at a time showed up (in which case, the later one just waited in his car until the previous one left).

We're not talking lowlifes here... we're talking soldiers (several), business owners and even one DOCTOR. Even though, when busted, most claimed they wouldn't have gone thru with the act, but the cops who were waiting outside didn't seem to care as they put them in handcuffs.

Stupidest part is... alot of the men had seen the Dateline show before and weren't all that surprised when it came down! A few even said they suspected it might be a setup, but showed up anyway!

:slap:

How ignorant is that?

Yes I watch it every chance I get. The sickest part, like you mentioned, is that these guys aren't at all what you would expect. Business men, teachers, doctors and PARENTS of girls this age. I know one shouldn't really go by stereotypes but I wish there was one so you knew who to watch out for. To think one of our bosses could be like that we not even know it. What, my boss is that perverted. However I would like to think he would at least go for 18 year olds so it would be legal.

Amen about the happiness statement. And to risk what's taken them a lifetime to build for a few thrilling moments is beyond me. Also makes me wonder if this kinda stuff has always gone on, but the internet just makes it easier to find young people... not to mention CATCH the pedophiles. I know I ran into a few dirty ole men when I was a young girl... but none of 'em ever propositioned me. Just wanted to show me their 'goods' - blaaaaaahgh. KIMI!!!! Been missing you!!! I wanna hear more about the bike festival!!!

It was absolutely amazing the number of bikes in this town. I think the ground is still rumbling a little in the wake. I took Ruby down Wednesday night and Thursday night and that was enough for me. I rode behind the rest of the weekend. Just couldn't handle the chaos and I know it was upsetting to Ruby, too! They have started adding venues now because it's gotten too big for the one little street everybody congregates on (the one with the bars and music). The best part of the whole thing is that some local charities really benefit from the impact.

Re: the discussion about the perverts that dateline has been busting...I've watched some of it. Makes me ill to think about the moral decline in this country. Nothing is sacred or out of reach anymore and for these guys, I guess their current relationships aren't worth keeping their britches zipped up for.....or to stay off of internet sites where they find these girls. Disgusting.

Among ALL of us... that foot in mouth thing. ;)

I emailed Scumbag and told her to get her skanky butt in here, but of course, she moves real slow. Being as old and feeble as she is. *koff*

I keep tellin that girl... if she'd just eat a big ole juicy rare cheeseburger, she'd be OK.

yeah, i've been eyeballing that too. the dispatcher office will make a food run up there now & then, but i't's always when i pack my lunch :(

one of the reasons i'm trying not to spend too much time in the dispatch office (where my desk is) is that those poor bastards eat lunch at their desks, and that's just a little too ~workoholic~ for me-i need my wide open spaces.

Let's see... so far today, I had the holy crap scared outta me twice. Once when I opened my car door at the train station. Seems a woman next to me was getting out at the same time, but she had one of those cars with dark tinted windows and I didn't see her until she was standing right there! For a second there, thought I'd been friggin carjacked. *heart pounds*

Then walking to my bldg. heard TWO gunshots downtown!!

Scurried into my office where I promptly spilled coffee down the front of my shirt.

Wahhhhhhh... I wanna go home and start over, but I'm too skerred!!

Well, Mary... just went downstairs to mail a letter and happened across two potential prospects. One was wearing a suit and tie, had long (little past shoulder length) brown hair -- slim and handsome. Another was wearing a tight black tee shirt with the words "U.S. Public Health Official" on the back (must've been visiting from another agency), camoflaged (sp?) pants tucked into tall black boots. Very muscular. *pant pant*

Mikey,
I have to ask a question.
Are you driving a desk now or do you still get out?
i spend about a 1/2 hour at my desk when i'm at the office, the rest of the day is spent limping around the truck yard, pointing and talking...kinda what i did when i was driving, but i get paid to do the talking instead of loading the truck.

life is good.
