I've been considering buying one of these now for quite some time. Reason being is that I have a lot of personal data stored on my computer at work, but the drives we have won't allow data to be written onto CD's and the software we have blocks any non business related files that are e-mailed to any source outside of the company

If I buy one of these removable flash drives, will I be required to upload software onto my work computer before I can extract files from it?

Flash drives be cheap and useful, almost like grog! Arrrr, but nay, ye don' need no special softwarrrrrrrrr for 'em, ye just plugs them in and they works. That be's their entire point. This old sea dog says that the best values be at Staples, but ye can find 'em near anyplace nowadays. Look for sales, they sometimes be about twenty gold pieces for 512 MB! Arrrrrr...
