I got real pissed off one night and went on myspace and pretty much vented about anything and everything.. here is what i put down for music:
Music Today is so lame, i cant even begin to tell you how similar and repetitive today's music is. Nothing sounds new.. everything has been done before. The only way to find new stuff is to dig... or listen to Nine Inch Nails or some progressive music like that.
The thing that boggles me is the music video.. and how many people buy into that crap. First off.. a music video is a FORMULA: professional lighting + slow motion shots + quick cutting = ANYONE can look good in a music video. I was watching a music video of "snoop dogg" and "Pharrell"(who the fuck is Pharrell??).. and it was funny because while they are supposed to be smooth and rhythmic.. neither can dance worth a lick.. so what they did was use slow motion cuts, cut away real fast, and show girls in their video and WALLAAAHHH.. everyone is fooled. Why am i the only person who sees a music video for what it really is? If you saw a music video in one cut, you'd laugh at how lame these "entertainers" really are. Without the proffesional lighting and directing, they look, dare i say.. "normal"?? and they don't want that.. they fear that...
Another thing that bothers me about music videos is how all these emo.. oops.. i mean... EMOTIONAL rock bands totally FACE FUCK the camera. Why do you have to sit there and look right into the camera? Do you think i want to see your ugly mug? A music video should be about artistic expression and visual stimulance... but unfortunately its turned into the lead singer of a band trying to get as many girls to think he's "hot" as he can so the band sells more records.. and the sad thing is? im totally right. So while "coldplay" and "my chemical romance" and other bands continue to put ugly faces on their videos THE WHOLE TIME.. its a cheap cop out.. and im one of the few who knows the difference...
