Over the years we have seen many game consoles released. Soome that have sucked and some that have been great. What do you have to say about them?

the sega saturn and the sega dreamcat weren't good at all. sega should just quit trying to make systems. The PS1 & PS2 are the best two systems to me

The Dreamcast and the Sega Saturn were both awesome systems. They just couldn't compete with Playstation.

Playstation 2 and X-bOx are the 2 best systems. I don't like or never liked the regular playstation, i just liked the diffent games they had.

I dont know about the sega cd,, but the Genesis was awesome, and the dreamcast was very cool but was released at a poor time and wasn't marketed very well. Sega has decided to just design games for other systems now. X-Box technically has the most powerful system out; but many playstation fans stick with the playstation and I must say it was very smart to make the system backwards compatiable.

Nintendo screwed up in my opinion, they stuck with the cartridge on the N64 because there is no loading, which is one main feature I liked when comparing PS1 to N64.. Now nintendo is targeting the younger market much more and leave many older people and even teens like me that enjoy mario without a reasonable system.

X-Box is awesome but they will have a terrible time trying to make their product popular, having no past place, but Microsoft has very deep pockets and if they decide to could wipe every other system off the market in my opinion, by dedicating enough resources to build systems that sony or nintendo couldn't touch. Currently their system is the most powerful but really not that much better than the PS2, and since the PS2 has many more games available and a already large fan base it seems to be leading the game revolution.

Personnally I love the both the PS1 ans PS2. The X-Box is straight garbage becuase it's games don't entertain me and have no subtance. But it is worth buing over the PS2 mainly because of pricing. the PS2 is $300 and the

I have my good old N64!

LoL

I did go to the arcade when I was in Greensboro, and I played this game called Crusing The USA Exotica and it was off the chain boys, I would love to have a game like that., with that steering wheel and pedals...man o man...killer game.

I love playing games in the arcade. They provide a much better feel of the game and it makes a player feel like he/she is really interacting with the game. But I still got love for my game consoles like the PSOne PS2 in which RPGs rule on them.

The gamecube is nice, but that's all it is, NICE. It's the weakest's next generation game console that was released. The games contain very little subtance in which is targeted at young audiences which leaves very little for more mature gamers to mess with.

I agree with x-sclusive. Theres nothing wrong with the way nintendo targetted a custom audience, but look at the games.. I have always supported nintendo 64 over the playstation and sega systems but this time nintedo made a more low end product, with little kid games... Do they have any games like 007 or and shooting games, etc?? For most teens it's PS2 vs XBOX, with Xbox being most technically advanced and best graphics, but PS2 offers many more games and seems to be more popular.... Game cubes are cool, but just didn't hit on much...

I own following systems by now:
Sega Mega Drive, Saturn, Dreamcast, Nintendo SuperNES, GBA

If I own enough bucks, I'll buy a Gamecube, a NeoGeo and some Arcades

But to be honor: I still prefer classic games of the 8, 16 or 32 Bit Era, 'cause they were funnier than newer games are... :? And I was never interested in a playstation or their games, very strange, isn't it?

SEGA is no longer making systems seeing that they sold themselves off to Misc companies, like Nintendo.

Uhm, he's right...

Nintendo has had a history of targeting younger players, with more cartoon like games...

Gamecube, like the rest of Nintendo's systems, have more RAM than other systems...

RAM is Randome Access Memory, all electrical.

Best for getting info INSTANTLY, sooo cartoony graphics are smaller in size, thus more fits into RAM.

That's why Nintendo likes RAM so much...

Now systems like PS2 uses more HDD than RAM...

That way they can hold more realistic graphics, which load a little slower.

I'm not going to get into the technical explanation, but Nintendo designs for a younger crowd.

Remember Atari Space invaders? - well that was a long time back - hadn't really played video games for a long time then on a whim got one those xbox's and the game Halo

Man was I addicted to that game - couldn't stop playing it until it was done. Now I can't find any other games that come even close.

I only have a PC, for gamestation, not a console.
I used to have a playstation (1) but the games got boring after several years and there were no cool new games out and then they introduced the ps2. Upgrading wasn't an option, to expansive.

I do prefer the playstation over the other consoles, but each game console has its benefits over the other. My personal preference is just the ps.

I have a pc, because then i have enough disk space and games to throw on it and a cool vid card and everything to make it run smooth. All good enough to not buy a console. Thaz all.

In the future when the console becomes a home entertainment system, I wouldn't mind having one. Playing games on the TV with your friends (or soon over the internet) is way fun.

Yes, of course does Nintendo design for a younger audience, but there are games like Resident Evil too. And Nintendo is still making high quality software for their consoles, and so there is a reason to buy them.

By the way, please tell me how the hell Sony's PS2 uses HDD - this device doesn't have a built in one. Sure, that you didn't mean Microsoft's X-Box?
However, the HDD is just used for storing data, not for working like a RAM.

couple of times. as has been said before, the games lack any substance and get boring after about an hour. As for the gamecube, the games on that had even less substance than the ones on the x-box. the best game just now looks like the re-release of Resident Evil. Looks great. they have ruined the Legend of Zelda, looks like a crappy mush together of Spyro or something. Utter SH*TE. severly dissapointed with nintendo. cya

I currently have Playstation 1 and 2 and Super Nintendo (I still like to play Tetris). I really love the survival horror games like the Resident Evil, Parasite Eve, Dino Crisis and Silent Hill series, so for me Playstation was the best gaming system. But since the Resident Evil series has now moved exclusively to Gamecube, I may have to buy one for the Re-vamped Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero.....Oh the pain! Oh the money! ugh

I'm gonna have to vote old school with the Atari 6400, where a simple square can be anything from a soccer player, knight, basket-ball, building, racecar well the list goes on.

xbox is the greatest system ever!

-xbox live
-halo
-unreal
-ghost recon
-linux
-computer
-copy games to harddrive
-halo 2
-mech warrior
-superfast loading
-splinter cell
-kick ass graphics
-killer sound
-extra stuff for games via xbox live

the only ther system that can provide this is a computer but...
for about a whopping 1000$

as compared to... what... 199$

DrewM
02-16-2003, 03:48 PM
They lose money on every xbox sold - i.e the xbox costs more to make than $199 - but the idea is that they make the money on the games. Thats a good deal

nintendo had to let down diehard fans like me with their keeping to the youger audience and not opening the door to adults and teens its probably their own intentional undoing cos no person with enough common sense would do that. I mean Mario sunshine! i guess thats japanese popularity like pokemon or beyblades

The Japanese like childish games for some reason. Look at anime, HUGE eyes, and they get a little tear drop when they get embarassed. Funny stuff.
