I am afraid that the U.S. will instill a puppet government like they did with countless other countries. I have a question, what do you think Bush would do if the Iraqi populace elects a Islam fundamentalist in office?

Good question. I think the U.S. will install a democratic government, but I don't doubt for a second that it will work to convince the Iraqi people that it would be in their best interest to avoid the fundamentalist types. And I think that's a good idea, because chances are if a free election results in a fundamentalist government, that will probably be the last free election they ever have.

A real democratic government? LOL.

The US would boot them out, stating that the people really didn't elect him, that it was all a fraud and the elections were rigged(even if he was elected truthfully). Then the US will go back in, overthrow him, and institute a more US friendly government, of course.
I wouldn't be surprised in the least if the situation in Iraq began to look surprisingly like the situation with Cuba.
I've questioned the motives of Bush from day one. I'm not claiming he had no place in removing a terror like Hussein, but you have to admit that his interest in oil makes him more then a little suspicious. Then again, I could be completely wrong considering I don't trust Bush as far as I could throw him.

The US wants almost complete control of the country. For 12 months they want it to be an occupation, and after that to still be somewhat under the discretion of the US. Powell tells Syria exactly what they are going to do (http://www.workers.org/ww/2003/bushdoctr0522.php)
And what about Cuba, I don't see where you are going with that one...
