A lot of bad (yet ) interesting things happened on this date. Some days are like that....

A. D. 79----Mount Vesuvius erupted, burying Roman resort cities of Pompeii and Hurculaneum; estimated casualties 20, 000

A. D. 410----Rome was overrun by Visigoths, an event that symbolized the fall of the Western Roman Empire

1572--French Hugenots (Protestants) massacred in Paris by Catholics (the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre)

1814--British troops invaded Washington, setting fire to the Capitol and the White House

1992---Hurricane Andrew strikes Florida, causing record damage and 55 deaths

2005---Tropical Depression 12 strenghtened into Tropical Storm Katrina

2006---I walked out of the restroom at work this morning, and bumped into three female coworkers. After some brittle conversation and some overt tittering, I later realized that I'd had some sort of visible urine weepage down the front of my Dockers.

DAMN August 24th!!
What a bad day.
 :(

Ah Sparky2, one sign of growing older is failing to zip UP. The sign of being really old is failing to zip DOWN.

No matter how you shake and dance
The last drop always wets your pants.
You can shake it,
You can swing it,
You can beat it on the wall,
But until you put it in your pants,
The damn last drop won't fall.
