John Stewart and Steven Colbert have formed an unstoppable duo when it comes to political humor and newsworthy satire. They have single (or shall I say, double) handedly taken over their genre of entertainment (poor Bill Mahrer and Dennis Miller)...which begs the question: who is the better of the two?
Picking one of the two, personally, is like choosing between children. While Stewart clearly shows his wit and personality during his show, Colber plays more of the Bill O'Rielly spoof character that spun his spinoff series "The Colbert Report." I would say, though, that Colbert's show is the more entertaining of the two, while The Daily Show is clearly the more informative.
I call it a tie. Apples and oranges; but two very witty, very funny apples and oranges.

I vote for Colbert because I like his show more, but don't expect me to qualify that with a further explanation.

Jon Stewart is great. He does a very good job of facial expressions and juxtaposing the serious newscaster character with the guy who knows the whole thing is a joke. While watching the Report, you're aware that Colbert is aware of how ridiculous he is being, but you never really get to witness it. He has to stay in that one character, and never gets to break the fourth wall. As such, I am a bigger fan of The Daily Show than I am of the Report.

Exactly. In a way its a huge credit to Jon Stewart that he can run the type of satire filled show he does without having to characterize himself. In the same breath, though, you have to hand it to Colbert for putting up the act and still effectivelly entertaining while asking tough; serious; and then very often silly questions - all within an entertaining half hour.
Screw Chappell, the Stewart/Colbert duo are the true faces of Comedy Central.

I have always loved the Daily Show, even back to the days when it was hosted by Craig Kilbourn. But Colbert has really grown on me in the past few months. As much as I love the Daily Show the Colbert Report is just more entertaining.
