I've got a question for all Porker fans here.....Why in the world would they sign Koren Robinson? They're not THAT desperate for a receiver...are they? Granted he's good and all, but just too many off-the-field problems for me.

Actually they are that desperate. Before they signed him they only had 4 recievers on the roster, and one of those is Ferguson. They traded Samkon Gado today to the Texans for Morrency, another running back. I suspect that Koren Robinson will wear out his welcome quickly, probably in some spectacularly bad behavior. I think this is a sign of desperation to find some way to generate some offense.
I also like A.J. Hawk. He will become a dominating linebacker. Abdul Hodge is also a great pick at linebacker, although right now he is backing up Barnett in the middle. He is a great run stuffer, but a little slow in pass coverage.

I agree about Dungy. Fans want instant gratification nowadays. It takes YEARS to build a genuine contender.

Good move by the Colts to get rid of Vanderjerk. I still say that it looked mighty suspicious when he missed that FG. That wasn't just a miss--it was a MISS--in a dome yet.

He had feuded with Peyton and Co for years. Good riddance.

I actually respect Parcells. He had the nerve to tell the smarmy dolt Jerry Jones to stay out of the locker room and stop telling the guys how to play.

He must be an idiot tho, to even take that job and work for the most meddlesome, smarmy, gladhanding, publicity- seeking, phoney turd in the NFL. I could almost feel sorry for Parcells.

Still tho, Jones isn't as bad as Georgia Frontiere, who owned the Rams. This was an ancient old hag who'd actually go into the locker room while the guys were nekkid and drool over "her boys". She actually patted them on their heads like they were dogs. You should have seen the looks on their faces---like they didn't know whether to laugh or throw up.

PS--Multiply what I said about Jerry Jones by 1000 and apply it to Art Modell.

PPS. Georgia Frontiere STILL owns the Rams. I thought she died about 80 years ago. She must be at least 300 years old by now. God help the Rams.

You know things are going to hell when you start picking up ex-Vikings. But seriously, it's pretty disappointing to be picking up known character problems like that idiot. I'd really rather see some 7th round rookie project running bad routes on the field than Robinson. At least the rookie might eventually turn into a good player.

Buffalo went to Miami & kicked some fish butt ... 16 - 6.

Tampa Bay came to Atlanta & got handled ... 14 - 3.

Browns lost to Bungels ( I really shouldn't call them the Bungels anymore--my, what a turnaround in a few short years for this team, eh?) 34-17, but there were some bright spots--Frye ran in for a TD, we picked off Carson P twice and sacked him 4 times.

Did not happen. I am glad we pounded the RedSkins, I didn't forget what they did to us last year.
It was a great win for us. Bledsoe still needs to get in sync with the WRs and TEs, but we seem to be doing fine.

I rather thought you might have credited Ryan Longwell and his excellent passing for a kicker. Of course he is an ex-Packer.
The Packers and New Orleans was a game to build on. The defense was improved as was the offense. Neither was perfect, but the youngsters are learning. If not for dropped passes by veterans the game might wel have turned out differently. Bubba Franks seems bent on losing his job. He dropped at least four passes, and two of those hit him in the chest. The pass protection was better, but that might be because the Saints defense is not as good as the Bears defense.

Yea the packers lit up the score board.. i thought they won-- they were up for awhile... but i guess everyone overlooked the saints this year. Brees is showing he's not just a product of having LT in his backfield...

Eli had a great game.. ALMOST as good as his brother's.. whose game was never in doubt. The Colts STEAMROLLED the texans..

As for the Browns, i think they can't really expect to hang with the bengals this year. While the defense did let Palmer know they were there, The bengals just executed. But on a side not.. did you see Chad Johnson get SHALACKED and blasted so hard his helmet came off? LMAO

Geez, before the year started i heard "The panthers are the team from the NFC that is going to the super bowl"... well they started 0-2... and they look bad. Shows what the "experts" know...

Suprises?? HOLY REX GROSSMAN.. that guy looks like a new force in this league. Is it me or do the Bears have a passing game? I think the last time i saw the bears air it out was when my boy Jim Harbaugh was heaving up passes. Pair an air attack in chicago with that Defense.. and its superbowl city for Chicago...

And The ravens have only given up 6 points??? dont jerk them off yet, while that IS a feat.. lets see them go up against cincy.. or pitt.. and then see what they do.

On another bright note, The Brownies get to play the Ratbirds this Sunday.

Folks, this won't be a pretty sight.
Tho I expect a loss, The Ratbirds haven't exactly played dominant teams.

Look for a lot of injuries/penalties.

i'll imagine this game could last 7 or 8 hours of nonstop fun.

PPS We are playing at home. Maybe this'll help. We play them again in December at their dumpy stadium. For loads of laffs, check out how ugly and depraved looking their fans are--it's a wonder they have the nerve to go out of the house.

This weekend I am looking forward to Jags - Colts, it should be a very interesting match up. I like Jags in that one. Skins will get their first win this weekend against the Texans. Carolina and Tampa Bay are going to battle out, and if Carolina does not win this, the 'experts' are really in a hole. Expect the Giants to lose big at Seattle. (another loss for a NFC East team, good for Cowboys, unfortunately the Eagles will beat the 49ers, coming off a tough loss last week to the Giants). It will be a very interesting weekend.

As for the Browns, well Rendova, no luck there, Ravens on top big.

Grossman has looked good every time he has been healthy enough to play. Unfortunately, he seldom plays more than a couple games in a row before getting a season ending injury. If he plays the whole season this year the Bears could go far, but given his history I wouldn't count on it.

The Packers play the Lions this week. I am going to go out on a limb here and actually predict a Packer victory. The lions are as bad a team as the Packers, and the Packers may actually be improving a little. Koren Robinson is expected to play some reciever this week, which should be interesting.

YESSSS.. Colts 21 Jags 14... that was a tough game. Jacksonville controlled and dominated most of the game with a high-octane running attack. The time of possession was insanely in favor to them. Just shows that even when the colts are "dominated".. they can still win games. Next week its Colts vs. Jets.. another tough game.

Week 3 impressions?

Bengals OWNED the Steelers.. TJ Houshmandzadeh made his 2006 debut in a BIG way.. and the Bengals Defense forced 5 "TO's"..(turnovers.. that is LOL) and also banged up the Steelers offense. Plus, Mr. Metrosexual Chad Johnson didnt do jack shit.. so overall it couldn't have gone better.

Browns are so nice, they are giving out victories. They had that game won, winning 14-3.. and what do ya know? Early xmas gifts aplenty in cleveland.

Chicago is TOUGH.. they are definitely the frontrunner to represent the NFC in the superbowl this year.. in my opinion. Grossman didnt impress me but he had a HUGE game last week so let's see how he bounces back.

Carolina FINALLY won.. after seeing expert after expert say they are "super bowl bound".. and while Steve Smith hasn't been healthy.. they STILL should be at least 2-1 right now.. and they BARELY snuck away with a win this week. My question is.. will they EVEN MAKE THE PLAYOFFS?

Geez, a dream matchup for the Miami offense to finally make some noise and they do what they normally do this year... nothing. Culpepper has done his best Charlie Frye impersonation all year... and meanwhile Ronnie Brown and Chris Chambers, two guys who had monster years written ALL OVER them.. are looking rather average. O well.. i guess they will get another chance next week against Houston. If they dont put up some numbers playing the Texans.. they are just awful.

Yayyy Brett Favre threw his 400th TD pass.. umm okay. I have heard about this game all damn day. Brett Favre! Brett Favre!! .. let me remind all of you media jack offs something... the Packers are 1-2.. they wont make the playoffs.. QUIT JACKING OFF BRETT FAVRE!! geez has John Madden spread around his attraction of Favre to everyone else??? Im guessing they will be at the bottom of their division this year... Chicago AND minnesota will own them, and Detroit will end up doing better the rest of the way. So how about them apples Brett?

Did anyone see the St. Lous-Arizona game?? Nobody wanted the ball! it was interception after fumble after fumble.... Warner looked good the first two weeks but hmm am i smelling Matt Leinart warming up in the bullpen? With a high powered offense like arizona's... there is no excuse for only putting up 14 points... Warner lost, not the Cardinals. His line? 3 INT's, 1 fumble.. 4 turnovers on the day... hey kurt, go back to stocking groceries in the STL.

well, thats all for now...

Although it was a 19-16 loss, the Vikings played tough against the Bears sunday afternoon. The NFC North is going to be represented by one of these two teams. Both have powerful defenses; the Vikes getting a defensive touchdown and the Bears getting an offensive TD late in the 4th (oh, this just in, the Vikes have a defense now). The offenses are pretty good...nothing flashy, but still good.

If he did that.. its nothing short of incredible. Talk about a guy who has so much to worry about, but yet is classy and straight-headed enough to do something for the community. And its one thing to just give money.. its another to just show up and toss around a football.. you can chalk Manning up as a class act, through-and-through.

As for the Bears and Vikes.. i watched the game, and i have to say that its obvious the Bears are the superior team. I mean, the INT return for the TD was not some "great read" by a defender, it was a gift-wrapped TD from Grossman. You can't count on gimmes like that from Grossman just to stay in the game. If it wasn't for that gift, the game wouldn't have even been close. The bears have a better D, a better passing game, AND a better running game... i would bet my first born child that the bears win that division this year.

As for Brett Favre.. he MIGHT be a good guy.. but you cant deny that he's fucking his team over by staying around during a rebuilding era AND the media jacks him off whenever he does something good, but then mum's the word on a 4 INT day...

Aaron Rodgers should be getting reps right now, not Favre. I mean, the packers DONT EVEN KNOW if rodgers is the guy.. and they SHOULD know by now. Because, if Aaron Rodgers AINT it... they will need to draft a QB next year.. but Favre is delaying the process.. and the result will be Green Bay not having a good QB once Favre leaves...

I'm not expecting HUGE things this year from the vikings, but I gotta say that Brad Childress has us headed in the right direction. They are more of a contender for the NFC North than what they're getting credit for...which is ok cause I don't mind being the underdogs that show up to play and actually keep the game close. Im gonna make some predictions for this week.. because i want to LOL.. im just going straight up:

GEEZ this week is FULL of games that could go either way... normally you can make decent picks on who is hot and who is the better team.. but WOW this week is tough..

there ARE a few gimmes though:

Miami over Houston (culpepper FINALLY looks good against the leagues WORST passing defense)
Philadelphia over Green Bay (McNabb is proving to be a player)
Kansas City over San Francisco (Larry Johnson shows up for the first time this year.. 2 TD's)

Now to the toughies.. ill pick a few upsets because i see them:

Arizona over Atlanta (upset, warner will come back strong, vick will continue to struggle)
Dallas over Tennesse (could be a gimme, but Dallas hasn't looked great yet this year)
Indy over NYJets (also a gimme, but i dunno, Pennington looks GREAT this year)
Minnesota over Buffalo (could go either way, McGahee is the leading rusher)
Carolina over New Orleans (saints luck runs out)
San Diego over Baltimore (baltimore almost lost to Cleveland)
St Louis over Detroit (Detroit isnt as good as advertised this year)
Oakland over Cleveland (i know, i just have always thought Oakland has talent, and are waiting to explode)
Jacksonville over Washington (Jags are TOUGH)
Cincinnati over New England (Cincy is a super bowl caliber team, improved defense)
Chicago over Seattle (Chicago at home, no Sean Alexander)

If anybody was watching the game, did you see the interception thrown by Frye in the Oakland end zone. It was hilarious. He was pressured, so he figured why not just lob it up there, and it almost cost them the game. LoL, I love when young QBs fuck up so bad. If they would have lost he would have learned a lesson, now he didn't and you'll see it happening again next week. Oh well! Dallas crushed Tennessee, it just wasn't a pretty sight. And TO played, and he looked good. I am still not please with Bledsoe, I want him to be more careful with his throws. He's just got to relax in the pocket, and make smart decisions, that's all.

Wow i didnt pick too well this week LOL.. my record was 6-7.. OUCH

o well, there's always next week

Did anyone see the Colts Jets Game???? If there was any doubt that Peyton Manning is the man... it has been cleared. He orchestrated 2 late 4th quarter drives for touchdowns... the first one should have done it, but then a 103 yard kickoff return later, Manning had to come back out and do it again. What a game... The colts ran for 150 yards, Manning took over in the 4th...

the last 2 games the Colts have overcome OVERWHELMING odds to win- they have lost the Time of Possession battle by a HUGE margin in EACH game, but yet they still win.. PLUS half of our team is on the injured list...

just imagine what happens when the Colts get healthy...

I don't know if any more of those signs will physically fit in the stadium.

No one said they had to be in the stadium ;). They could...

fill Comercia Park with protestors.
paint the "Fire Millen" text on the field inside Tiger Stadium.
tattoo a "Fire Millen" sign on the dome roof.
rename the Fisher/Chrysler Freeway the Fire Millen Freeway.
rename Grand Circus park to Fire Millen Park.
change the team name to the Detroit Fire Millens.

and the list goes on...

PS The Super Bowl is over rated and many times not even a good game. There's so much hype, it's sickening, and the guys are so nervous and pumped up you'll see one bad play after the other. Just bad games, many times.

The last of real football you'll see are the respective Conference championship games. After that, I kinda lose interest ( mainly because the Browns have never been near a Super Bowl.)

I have not forgotten, just have tried to mercifully block it from my mind.
Browns lost to Denver 3 times in these Championship games--1986, 87, and 89.
86 was the worst, at home, losing in final few minutes to the infamous "Drive."

John Elway, I don't like you, but I have to give you credit---I guess.

speaking of guys not winning superbowls.. i heard "the argument" again.. who is the better QB.. Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. ughh this one is as obvious as asking who is fatter, Queen Latifah or Whitney Houston.

The answer is Peyton Manning.. and while i am a Colts fan and i have a supposed "biased" opinion.. let me back that up with some arguments.

Brady has always had it easy. His Defense over the years has been THE BEST IN THE LEAGUE.. hands down. Now imagine this... Brady playing a game where HE KNOWS he only has to score 13-17 points because his Defense will lockdown. So Brady does that, and he's called a "winner"...

Meanwhile, Manning doesnt have that luxery over the years... if he's going to win a game, he has to score 30-35 points.. and he does that.

Let me ask everyone a question.. what is a quarterback's job??? the answer: to score points. Who does that better? Peyton Manning.

If Brady didnt have the insane Defense during his superbowl runs.. he wouldnt have the championships. Give Manning the defense Brady had and Manning would have had 3 Super Bowls EASY. People try to cover up Brady by saying he's a "winner", but its easy to be a "winner" when you only have to score 13 points to win. I would like to see Brady in Indy with one of the worst defenses in the league(back in 2001) win a championship.. he wouldn't have. Not even close.

So enough of the "Brady is a winner" crap.. its just that... UTTER CRAP.. Brady benefitted from the system.. and now the Pats arent nearly as good. WHy??? because his good Defense left... im gonna enjoy watching Brady have to deal with actual NFL situations... the guy has one of the best Offensive Lines in football too.. so while he should get some credit... plain and simple..

Tom Brady isn't in Manning's league... Brady was on better teams, but he isn't as good of a QB as Manning... take that to the bank.

Playing the devil's advocate, you could also argue that Manning has always had much better receivers and a running back around him.

Getting back to reality, I'd also have to say Manning is clearly the better QB. But Brady winning that many Superbowls shows that he obviously does not suck.

Decka

I welcome opposing points of view.. but let me reply...

Brady hasn't had duds for receivers and running backs in the past... while Manning probably had BETTER... The Pats receiving core and running game was no joke.. and plus the pats have always had a better Offensive line.

But back to reality.. you said... im glad you see the obvious. I never said Brady "sucks".. he is just overrated IMO.. he's obviously a talented quarterback.. but no peyton manning.

Yay, the Packers finally booted Ahmad Carroll!

I would guess it had a lot to do with his attitude, and not just his ability, although both are found to be lacking. His removal is an object lesson to some other underachievers on this team. His sarcastic apology was just the last straw on a heavily loaded camel.

ughh talk about an ugly win...

The Colts squeaked by the Titans 14-13, a team they should have beat easily. Well, perhaps not.. there are a few items that should be taken into the equation:

1. The Titans played well, better than they have all season. While the Colts are terrible at stopping the run so far this year.. the titans DID execute a running attack well, Travis Henry ran for 123 yards... and while the titans have been beat up the past few weeks, they sure showed up this week. The Titans have some talented linebackers and linemen...

2. The Colts DIDNT play well... Manning was on and off the field too much, and "Hunter the Punter" was being overworked. It took 5-6 series of punts just to get something going offensively.. something the Colts normally don't do.

3. There's a new tune in nashville... This titans team had new life and a little extra bounc in their step with the newly appointed QB Vince Young making his first start. While Young didn't dominate, it was a move that made the players want to play harder and better. Young is the future of that team.. and having a washed up Kerry Collins have bad performance after bad performance can diminish a team's will to win and killer instinct... its alot easier to do the hard things when you know its toward a bigger goal or a step in the right direction.

All in all.. im just glad the Colts got out of that game with a "W"... We havn't played well yet this season.. i can only hope that we get hot at the right time this year, instead of getting hot at the wrong time last year.

The Colts haven't played especially well, Decka, but don't forget about all those injuries.

They looked pretty good against the Jets I thought. (remember that playoff game against the Jets a few years ago?
A visiting family from Indy had their Colts jerseys literally pulled off their bodies by gracious and polite Jets fans, and the little boy's jersey was set on fire. Nice fans who are truly an example to us all..... It was a beautiful thing to see the Colts take them on at their dumpy stadium and beat them there--and this time only a few beer bottles were thrown--no fires that I know of.....)

But I digress. Their 5-0 record is impressive--somehow they find ways to win. Give a lot of that credit to Peyton, who could easily win a race for Governor in this state.

PS. They just weren't up for that Titans game, prob because of that Pacer thing at the strip club a few days before).

PPS. I don't like the Jets and that goes back to Joe Namath.

The Packer game just plain hurt. The defense played well, and the game was close. Favre is engineering a late drive to tie or win, and he fumbles. I think Favre should have retired at the end of last year. He just doesn't have it this year.

So the Vikings were actually down 17-3 to the lowly Lions before rallying to come back and win the game? Granted they fought back to win and a win is a win, but that was a game that should have been a cake walk for the boys in purple.

I find it hilarious that some crazed fans are already calling for Brad Johnson to be replaced....................ok, well you have Brooks Bollinger who hasn't taken a snap since I believe 2004 with the Jets...and Tarvaris Jackson, the 2nd round rookie and current project for the 2007 season.

***BUZZZZZ!*** Not gonna happen.

Well, all I can say, they brought that D. Amazing defensive stand. On the other hand, I can't stand Bledsoe, a lot of poor decisions, just horrible, and sometimes he held the ball so long, he was just asking to get sacked. I thought our D was ok, I mean still needs some improvement at DB, but it'll work. It was a horrible loss for us, as it was a very important game against a NFC East team. Maybe next time...

Why they can't catch balls thrown by the opposing quarterback is beyond me.

Actually, I think he's playing pretty well. He's not spraying the ball around to the other team at anywhere near the rate he was last year. Given that he only has about 1/2 secend to get rid of the ball, he could be doing much worse.

Yes that was a problem, but at least they did a good job of holding the Rams to field goals in the second half. They are improving, although the secondary is still not good.

He has had his spraying the ball around moments this year, mostly when they were way behind. I agree that his experience has helped him, as has the emergence of Jennings and Koren Robinson. Of course Koren Robinson is facing a year suspension as soon as the NFL rejects his appeal, and facing a jail sentence after the season for violating his probation terms in Seattle. I figure he has maybe a couple more weeks.
Last year, most of the interceptions came when he had only Driver and a bunch of NFL Europe type receivers. Given the lack of depth, that could easily happen again in the second half of this season.

The Steelers came to Atlanta today and will go home unhappy campers. They put up a good fight, score tied at the end of regulation play, into overtime they went ... and lost.

The lackluster bills got their asses handed to them again on their own turf, this time by the Patriots. Buffalo is a drinking town with a definite football problem.

WOOT! What a day for Chester Taylor and the Vikings in Seattle.

C. Taylor - 95 yard TD run, longest Viking offensive play in history
C. Taylor - 188 total yards
B. Johnson - 16/25 for 171 yds.
Defense - 2 INT's, one fumble recovery for TD
Seattle - Worst loss at home since 2004

Now if we can take down the pats next week, it'll say a lot about how this team is coming together under new....well, everything.

The game was tied Hasselback was injured and forced to leave the game. Beating a team when their starting quarterback is forced out of the game is still a win, but not something to be that proud of. It was much more a matter of Seattle losing than the Vikings beating them.

I kind of figured that. I was actually looking forward to this game all week long, and now I am saddly dissapointed. I actually thought we can beat the Giants. About time Parcells put Romo is, and I thought he played decent. He did force the ball in there a few times, but it's ok, he'll only get better. The worse thing is, we couldn't get the running game going, so that hurt us a lot. I would have liked from our D to stop Tiki, and we did an ok job, even forced a fumble. It is a very unfortunate game for us.

Sounds like typical Packer fan banter to me.:)

It was still an impressive win, holding the defending NFC Champions to only 13 points, especially when the team that beats them is almost completely rebuilt and does not have a clear-cut star player...as well as competing in the atmosphere that Qwest Field usually offers to its visitors.

Yes, I know that the Seachickens were without Alexander and eventually without Hasselbeck for that game. But then again, a W is a W. I hope we can knock the Pats to their knees on Monday night.
