View Full Version : Cowardly way to lock a thread

Drew recently locked one of the Madonna threads. That is fine. What isn't fine is the manner in which he did it.

Drew posted an anti-Christian polemic in which he said some pretty vile things and then locked the thread so there could be no rebuttal. I find that pretty cowardly.

When you call people bigots and suggest they are pedophiles and then lock the thread so there can be no response you are abusing your power as a moderator.

We all know you don't like religion in general and Christianity in particular, Drew. We got the message long ago. It is simply wrong and cowardly to post a message like yours and then lock the thread. Next time just lock the thread without the hateful message.

I like and respect Drew and find him to usually be willing to participate in the rough and tumble and allow rebuttal of his statements. That is why I am so surprised at his actions in this thread. It isn't like him and it just isn't right to post as he did and not allow a response.

Maybe I was too harsh in my choice of words in the title and my initital post. I don't think Drew was being cowardly, just unthinking of the sensibilities of those he insulted.

Drew didn't close that thread. I closed it yesterday because it became apparent that the thread had degenerated into a name-calling fest. Drew added his last comment after the thread had been closed. Henceforth I'll leave a note when I close a thread so there's no confusion. My apologies.

Then I offer my apologies to Drew. It seemed very uncharacteristic of him and that is why I was surprised enough to post what I did.

Drew...............here is my public apology.

Mea culpa. Mea culpa. Mea maxima culpa.
