Sometimes it seems to me that those Jewish lobbyists are everywhere. Just spit into crowd in the street and you’ll hit some Israeli henchman. Even in such nice country as Canada you can meet them! Thus candidate for liberal Party of Canada leadership Michael Ignatieff declared that Canada should support Israeli terrorist operations against Lebanon. I’ve made some inquiries about this politician filling quite a high post and found out that he’s just Ukrainian Jew! And such statements you can hear from several politicians in all G8 powers. I say they’re everywhere! Now they’ve run into unexpected trouble in the person of Hezbollah and seeking some fools (“peacemakers” I mean) that could shield them from belligerent Arabs. I’m sure that they’ll find such tender-hearted simpletons. But IMHO other countries shouldn’t prevent Hezbollah teach Israel mannerliness lesson and kill Jewish desire to further terrorist provocations.

How can you tell the difference between a politician who supports Israel due to strategic geo-political concerns and one who supports Israel because he has been lobbied to do so?

Any politican --of any stripe-- who uses the excuse that --"Well, this dust-up in the Middle East is all about protecting the strategic geo-political concerns of the U.S. of A.!!!-- in order to justify the continued slaughter of innocent civilians in Palestine and Lebanon is one despicable person.

I'm glad you got that off your chest. An answer would be nice, but if you need to vent, I'm here for ya'.

An answer would be nice,

Ok.

I'd say the two are virtually indistinguishable.

I'd say the two are virtually indistinguishable.Thanks. Then if you can't tell the two apart, you're not in a position to criticize any of them.

I don't know if this dust-up in the Middle East is all about protecting the strategic geo-political concerns of the U.S. of A., but being allies with Israel has been pretty good for the US economy.

7.73 billion dollars of goods and services (yes, much of that was military hardware, services, spare parts, and training) were exported from the US to Israel in 2005. Of course, the US exports worldwide in that year exceeded 927 billion dollars, so Israel's piece of our economic prosperity is a fairly small one.

Who are our biggest trading partners?
In order, they are Canada (accounting for 23.4% of our exports in 2005), Mexico with 13.3%, Japan 6.1%, China 4.6%, and the UK 4.3%.

So back to your point, Lenny;
Go spit in the street again and see if you don't find that you have a much better chanc of hitting a Canadian or Mexican Lobbyist than a Jewish one.

Give the Jews a break will ya?
They've had a hell of a time of it lately.
:cool:
