I'm no computer expert, Red, but I believe everything a person has ever done on a computer is stored on the hard drive somewhere.
Which is why cops love them so.......

Just dump the dumb thing off Tower Bridge and then tell people it was "accidentally" broken beyond repair. Or stage a fake robbery after you've smashed the thing to smithereens and dump the remains in various lakes, ponds, the English Channel, and various dumpsters around the City. Make sure you wear gloves while you do this, and then burn them.

Or, just ship it to my hometown of Gary Indiana (use fake name and address). It will languish in the Post Office there for YEARS!!!!!!!

Some of that stuff may indeed still be there. Software exists that actually does remove all that stuff, but the easiest way to delete stuff is to take a strong magnet and rub it all over the hard drive, then open up the hard drive, take the platters, rub the magnets again, and start smashing them. Basically, rendova's idea.

We already know what is on your hard drive, Red and it ain't pretty. Those pictures of Beckham in his little football shorts will be there forever.

Do you think he's spying on you or are you worried that the person he sells it to could find something?

Red is your husband computer savvy enough to actually figure out how to retrieve the info because I would imagine it would take a lot of knowledge, time work and effort? My guess is, your secrets are safe. :)

Editing because I forgot to say.... shhhhhhhhhh...tell us what's on there... no one will see and we won't tell... it'll just be our wee secret....hehehehe... tell, tell (she said in a whisper)

For you anything, Red. You can't be there the second week in February. I've already had one of my cousins from Germany put in for that week.

You will have to bring your porn laden laptop with you if you want to stay at my place.

If you are paranoid about the contents of your hard drive, the best thing to do when you give away or dispose of a computer is to replace the old hard drive with a new one and dispose of the old hard drive the way Borg Hunter suggested.

New hard drives are cheap enough to do that.

Dammit.
