If any of you wanted to know about Hawaii...

Hawaii is all right, but at times it can be VERY boring. (Especially if you're like me...lived here forever and have no life!) The people who aren't lucky enough to be able to afford to get out of state usually move to Oahu. Oahu is where everything is...waterparks, huge-@$$ malls (the ones we have here are all one story), things like that. But it's pretty much touristy and industrialized. If you want trees, no skyscraping buildings and beautiful scenery, I suggest Kaua'i, Maui, and I guess the Big Island (a.k.a. Hawaii), which is the one I've lived on all my life. If you ever come here, you should be prepared for high gas prices! It's like, $1.82 for Regular Unleaded at Chevron. There are some places that are way cheaper, but they're out in the boonies.

And while my house is small, it's not a grass shack. :D Let's see...I'll go over the usual questions I get: 1) We usually wear grass skirts when doing hula, and even then no coconut bras...they're too itchy and sometimes too small! 2) No, we can't teach you to HULA, but we can teach you some basic steps...it takes years to be really great at it. 3) Not all of us dance hula (like me...I suck). 4) We use US Currency, not coconuts. =p 5) We have electricity...

Ummm...let's see...oh, yes...If you go to see the volcano, DO NOT take the lava rocks. Yes, they're pretty, but it's bad luck to take them. Madam Pele (the Hawaiian Goddess of Fire, not the soccer player...) considers them her children, and if you take them, it's kidnapping to her.

I have been to Hawaii once and I loved it. I hope to get back there and see some of the smaller islands and get some more hiking in.

I understand how Hawii can become boring. I remember about 5 or 6 years ago my grandmother telling me after she got back from her trip to Hawii that one of the locals had told her that living in Hawii you feel stuck and traped in some way because you are in the middle of the ocean and if you wanted to get off it the closest to main land is California.

So you wanna see a pic of me, with all that beautiful stuff in the background huh? Well just turn to page -17 in the newest issue of Playboy. ;)

No mud schools here....just the usual school buildings with crappy paint jobs. =p And I mean crappy. My high school has a green roof, and the rest of the buildings are brownish-red, and we have blue & gold poles that support the covered walkways. It's icky! But not all of it is blue & gold, there are some poles that are um...tree trunk-like. Those match better than the blue and gold....and I seen one school that's entirely an icky green color. =p

The bikinis depend on the weather. On a nice, hot sunny day, there'll be girls walking around in supermarkets and stuff with pareos, or just their bikini top and a towel wrapped around their waist. (Like they probably do wherever there's a beach...) You know that they're either going to the beach, or came from there. *shrugs* But of course they won't be doing that if it's cold. I'm not gonna take pics of that though...*LOL* You can go and do that for yourself. :D

Thanks for the Hawaii lesson. I took a look at the pics and all. I'd like to visit Havaii one day. It looks so beautiful and breathtaking on the ocean. Looks clean, too! It's certainly not that clean everywhere you go. :guitar:
