It was a very early black and white form of japanese anime about this guy from some far away planet. (I think his earth name was Bobby) I forgot why he was sent to earth, but he was only here for a year "I think" and was always homesick. He also had a girlfriend and a few other guys that used to hang out with him as well. Does anyone here remember this show (or even know what show I'm talking about)?
I can also remember that he used to wear this big "gas gauge like" necklace like around his neck that gave him power when it was filled with energy. He was only strong and could fly and fight when this thing was filled.
Anyone here knw what I'm talking about :@@:
I did a Google search on him and this is the song that used to come on when the show started http://users.wi.net/~rkurer/toontracker/prncplnt.html

I do remember something with this name "Prince Planet" or "Príncipe Planeta", though it was my younger brother who enjoyed this Japanese cartoons, there were other cartoons from Japan in those days.
Have you ever seen "Kimba, the white lion", that cartoon that Disney stole the idea for their "Lion King"... all characters are a copy of the Japanese Kimba, and even the name was hardly changed, you know... Simba ... Kimba ...

Hey look what I found on YouTube

I have been looking for two shows that I seem to remember when I was very young.
The first had a young boy who controlled or maybe just befriended a giant robot. The bad guys alway tried to dround the kid in a glass box by dumping pudding in it. Of course the robot always saved him after killing the giant bad guy of the week, be it animal or machine.
The second was about a guy who had a little silver baton that changed him into a giant silver robot looking guy.
Both of these shows were from Japan. I just don't know what they were called. Both were shows featuring people, not animation.
Thanks.

Here is one called "Space Giants" . Maybe this was the one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flGn7l1ELfg
That's almost the same thing. Your clip lead me to the one I remember from the early to mid 70's - Johhny Sokko and his Flying Robot.
