Do astronauts use liquid oxygen in space for breathing?

They store their oxygen in liquid form. When they breathe it, they release it as a gas. They also mix liquid oxygen with rocket fuel to burn in their engines for launch.

The storing it in liquid and releasing it as a gas I get.

Why do they mix it with the rocket fuel?

fuel won't burn without oxygen & there is no oxygen in space. For example - you could not ignite gasoline in space unless you mixed it with oxygen.

Pretty much right. Technically, the oxygen is part of the fuel.
