"Iraq is cited many times in interviews with detained extremists but it is over-simplistic to describe terrorism as the result of foreign policy. What western foreign policy does provide is justification for violence ..."
It says changing jihadist attitudes is a long term issue: "Whatever preventative measures are taken or discussed around the world, none are comprehensive and early results are not expected. Many jihadists do not feel that 'winning' is important because God will see to that eventually - what is important is 'taking part'."
------------------
It's a UK report, but pretty much highlights what I have been saying. Iraq has done nothing but make us less safe. Shame because it's cost $400 Billion, 2500 dead US kids & 10,000 maimed.

are you implyin g without the war in iraq there would be no more terrorists? with or without the war in iraq, there would be terrorists. we cant base everything we do based on how someone else will react. I highly doubt there are thousands of regular family men who suddenly quit their jobs and took up arms. its mainly those who were teetering anyway.

I dont see how people can say americans drink "coolaid"... and then be suprised when terrorism goes up when we are trying to combat them... I mean, what do you expect??? Everyone is going to be FORCED to beleive a certain way over their by their activist dad or uncle or something... they will plant the seeds to hate america VERY YOUNG... Don't try to act like these "new terrorists" are all the sudden "enlightened" and chose for themselves... maybe a small percentage might have, but i DO make a good point...
so tell me if its one way or the other... because you can't hold different standards.
And last i checked... al quaida and all the terrorist groups existed WAY before the iraq war.. so your thread is stupid.

What happens when your job was destroyed by a little dose of "shock and awe"?
Maybe your family too, or at least some friends or relatives?
You're a "regular family man"...what would you do?

I would do what most of the men are doing and take up arms against the terrorists who are blowing up my markets and gas stations, what would you do? Let the terrorists blow up your family and blame it on the americans?

Where are we combating them? We were doing so in afghanistan to some degree, but where now? Certainly not in Iraq. So where?
Your post makes practically zero sense. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that events in Iraq is making the terrorist threat 1000 times worse

If I was an Iraqi, not bothered if it was Saddam,or someone elses army, killing my family or friends and there was an insurgency to resist that army,I,like most people on this forum would consider joining it,to try and protect my family and friends.Basic science,to every action, theres a reaction.
