A terrorist act in Tiraspol, Moldova, that caused death of at least 8 and injured over 30 people, must be having certain connection to Moldavian and Romanian special services! This is what comes to light taking into account the fact that the explosive devise was a M18A1 Claymore antipersonnel directional fragmentation mine that is in service of Romanian army, and began to enter the inventory of Ukrainian, Georgian and Moldavian services of late. Last modifications of M18 Claymore are issued with proximity firing devise which is not very safe. Due to its construction, it may cause premature detonation of the mine. That is why it is not improbable that mine's target was not a city minibus with some ten people inside, but a far more crowded target. If the terrorists had carried the thing thorough, there could have been dozens, if not hundreds victims among innocent residents of Trans-Dniester. Today there are too many people who would like to destabilize the situation in this region and something tells me that they will stick at nothing!

In the connection with this tragedy one more issue emerges. Romania is a member of Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and has signed the Non-Proliferation Co-operation Pact that does not permit Romania to sell any conventional small arms including mines. This also has to do with Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary and Bulgaria that do sell out their arms holdings to Ukraine, Georgia and Moldavia. These countries are violating the agreement and we see what results from this. Well, I guess the worst is still to come. I think that OSCE needs to apply punitive measures to defaulters!
