The annual running of the Indy 500 is at hand, this year's pole sitter is 2 time winner Helio Castroneves set the pole at 231.725 mph in a 4 lap run. Here's to a great race!!

I just can't get into oval racing. I like left and right turns, and braking and accelerating and all of the great stuff you get with road racing. Either way, I wish IRL and CART would kiss and make up.

I've heard oval racing compared to chess. Indianapolis is the biggie of US open wheel racing. Would be nice to see NASCAR embrace technology the way virtually everyone but the vintage racers have. Can you even purchase a new automobile or light truck with a carb sitting on top of a pushrod V8 any more?

Racing is to chess as the NRA is to Mensa.

No! And certainly not in a Taurus, Intrepid, Grand Prix or Monte Carlo.
