Honestly, that wasn't me who first suggested an idea that Russian diplomats were kidnapped and murdered not by Islamic radicals but American special services that swimmingly imitated a group of Chechen insurgents linked to al Qaeda. Indeed, for more similarity, they even demanded Moscow withdraw its troops from Chechnya, yet they did not promise to release Russian diplomats after the demand is fulfilled.

Will you agree with me that terrorists don't usually kill their hostages if they want to intimidate somebody into doing something? Of course the kidnappers did not consider releasing Russian diplomats because it is clear they knew who kidnapped them. Now again, when George Bush said that American troops would do their best to find the kidnappers and the hostages, it was just a smokescreen.

Then why? The point is that America and Russia have always been enemies. After Cold war, Russia was forced to its knees, but now they are doing well and gradually rising again; and this certainly worries Washington a lot. Besides, Russia has always been in good terms with Moslem countries and never fought against them. So, the way I see it, America is simply trying to drive a wedge between Moslem countries and Russia, and push it far back by damaging its international prestige.
