L = Some kind of drug, undoubtedly. The second thing sounds like he always has his gun out, ready to fight. As for the dart, it sounds like he is twisting (painfully, probably) something from someone's heart.

These are just my educated guesses, I really have no idea. :D I only listen to country anyway, though I used to be your standard rock listener. If I was wrong, I apoligize.
