I donate to the BC Childrens Hospital. They helped say my cousins life when she was born so I always like to give to them.

I give to local charities rather than national ones. There are lots of local groups that help people in my community and the surrounding communities. I give to our local food pantry, the pb & j fund, and lots of local fraternal organizations that have charities. In the past I have donated an electric wheelchair, a stair elevator, a hospital bed and an arthritis lift chair to individuals who needed them but could not afford them.
I try to help individuals.
When I give to a national charity, I try to consider one that gives out a high percentage of their income. Look them up and you will see that some charities only give 50% or less out.
To qualify as a charity an organization only has to give out something like 12% of the donations. Management in these funds live "high on the hog."

If i had a big amount of money to donate i too would rather take it to an individual,,,,or buy the gift and hand it in personally....
It is real sad though that all the money we raise does not all go to the reason we raised it...
