Who here has more than 1 dog ??

My dog is nearly 7 now,,,hubby has wanted another pup for a few years now but ive always put him off,,,,i think im caving now though and i want one too....

Boxers are big mad dogs though,,,,and my boxer forum is down and i cant get in and i want advise ....:mad:

Is there really a big difference between 1 dog and 2 ????

Well I don't have any but a stuffy one, hehe
But my gram-ma had a boxer and he was the most loving, gentle dog ever. It also depends with the new dog, who's job is it mostly to care for it. If it is yours then I would say you make the final call. I know it is give and take but when your the one doing the work it is take it or leave it. hehe

Don't get another of the same sex. In a year or two's time the younger will probably try and take control of the household and fights will start, and there's a difference between these fights and playful fights. Blood does start flying.
We had an old Keeshond when we decided to get another young dog, some kind of terrier mutt. It was easy to get her to leave the cats alone but around a year after we had her problems started and the back of the Keeshond's neck was torn open and she had to be taken to the vet. We also had to get rid of the other dog. I guess there's a chance you could get a very calm submissive dog, but it's just instinct that it'll want to take dominance.

I finaly managed to get on my Boxer dog site and i posted the question there,,,they also told me to get different sex dogs.

Ive been thinkin about this for a long time,,,,and im gonna think a lot more,,,,,seems im always makin up excuses,,,,,,which tells me im not ready for 2........

I watched Animal Precient Detriot last night and they had an abused Boxer ,,,her ears had been cut off and she was soooo skinny and tied to a tree,,,,,,she had been there that long that her collar had cut into her neck.......

Lord i hate cruelty to animals...
