There has been a lot hush hush on this issue. Some say that they should legalize pot in Canada because it helps people with severe illnesses like cancer and glacoma. Most people are saying that pot is a violent drug that should be banned forever. I say that there a lot of other drugs on the streets that are worse for you then pot. I have seen some of my friends struggle with things LSD, Cocaine and Heroin. Those drugs usually end you up in a body bag, cornor's office. I have never heard of pot doing that. I have a book called the History of Cannibis by Martin Booth and it says that there has never been a reported overdose on pot. That you would have to smoke 800 joints to OD on pot. That would mean you would have to smoke that all at once. I don't think anyone can smoke that many joints in a session.

I want to hear about the laws about pot in other countries.

Possession practically is legal here (in non-dealer amounts).

I have no qualms about the legalization of cannabis. Smoke away, but stay away from me!

Legalize it, regulate it, tax it. Government makes money. Stoners are happy. Mafia suddenly finds itself with fewer funds. Less resources wasted on the War on Drugs.

I think they should legalize it. It would be a lot less stress on the Canadian goverment and law enforcement. They have bigger worries then pot smokers. They could do a lot less time busting people with pot and focus on the gun problem in Toronto. What are potheads going to do but raid the fridge, sleep or read a good book or become creative ? I have never seen bloodshed over a joint unless it was some other potheads joint.

I to agree that pot should be legitimized. Then the mystery surrounding the appeal to want to use pot will subside. Like the legalization of alcohol. The only problem I have seen is that with the new technology that has come with the new times, pot today is a lot stronger then the pot of say my parents age. For some kids locally smoking weed is appealing and cool because it is the forbidden fruit still. Take that away and it is no longer a treat.

This is a problem? Seems to me it's progress.

!!!!!

As it concerns pot being illegal, you hit the nail on the head.

The illegality of pot assures the callous bastards who run the for-profit prison enterprises a continual fresh supply of people who are (or who become) for all intents and purposes.....slaves.

I think they should decriminalize it, but just because we have other drugs legal (alcohol, tobacco) does not mean this should be legal.

I used to be very pro legalize it, but once you have kids the view changes. Certainly the jails should not be filled with pot users.

I don't know about legalization ......but .....I don't think users should be criminalized. I say try and take the profit incentive out of it any way you can .....except for institutional delivery of it.

I believe it is senseless to try and eradicate it's use.

They should decriminalize it because now that the goverment has passed the law that you cannot smoke in any public restaurant bar or casino their next move is going to be to ban cigarettes.
