Why, I'll bet that that particular denomination represents a huge percentage of the Christian community in America.

Right, just like your inbred Christian whackjob neighbors that you continually use as an example of a typical Christian represent a statistically responsible sampling size.

That's just it.

I am NOT "continually using" the people you refer to as an example of those who Christians take a dim view of homosexuality.

And I am not singling out the "inbred Christian whackjobs" when I talk about the Christians in this country who are disapproving of homosexuals.

I am talking about the concensus view among the Christian community in America.

Free, I think the more you believe other people are bad, the more of a super guy that makes you.

Wow....the same guy that talks about people pushing **faux-psychology** comes up with that gem ....AND he has the following --- If you have to exaggerate my point to make me wrong, you've already given up.--- as a tag line.

Unbelievable.

It seems like most of your human contact takes place on AllForums so you believe most Americans give a crap about issues.

I do not know what other issues that the religionists in America care deeply about, but it is well known that the Christian faction in America cares about the issue of homosexuality.

We see examples of it every day in the news. Those news stories are not being concocted out of thin air.

But the fact is, most people (and yes, Christians fall into that category) don't even know this issue is being debated.

?!?!?!?!

Are you suggesting that --speaking of Christians alone, which is THE group of people in this country I have been talking about--- most of them do not know that there is a controversy in America over the issue of homosexuality?

And if 99.999% of the Christians in America could care less about **doing something about** homosexuality, then there would not be the strident and vocal opposition to gay marriage that we see expressed every day in the news.

To suggest that ALL of the opposition to gay marriage, to homosexuals asking for equal rights, and to the gay lifestyle is coming from 0.001% of the Christians in America is beyond silly.............it is insane.

Well maybe 99.999% was an exageration, but you get the idea. The point is - the Christians that would do anything about it beyond complain to each other at the back of church are not that great in number.

I'm sure that you think you are, but again your experience seems to be limited to people you know and TV. Try moving north for a while.

Interesting article. If it can be proven that being gay is a biological occurance then one could conclude it was 'of God' and the religious fruitcakes argument takes a dive out of the window (although of course for any intelligent person not blinded by brainwashing, it dived out of the window long ago)

I remember reading about this, but this and other similar data won't aid in chucking out narrow-minded evangelical ideas about homosexuality much. It is in the Bible that homosexuality is an abomination, regardless of what science tells us, and is from what I've seen, managing to stay that way.
