Hi: Not sure if I am starting this in the right area but oh well I will give it a try.

My question is long but simple.
How do you deal with people on these forums that are out and out sneaky and rude to you in a back ass way. People you thought were your friend. Do you check it at the door, get pissy back, or just leave the forum and call it a big old day. I know the guys will have a different answer then the girls but would like to hear their comments too if they wish to share them. :confused:

My reason for asking is, Well as I am sure most of you have more then one forum you might visit. Some more then others are your favorites. Well I started on another forum back in January for the rpg games on it. Meet a lot of really great people and also my boyfriend. He lives in the UK and I in Canada but we make it work. Love the webcam and voice and msn is a life saver. BUT there are a few people on this forum that are pissy ass wipes. I know that sounds mean. I have tried to be nice and just watch and listen and play my rpg but some this one girl/lady just feels a need to use her words to be a bitch in every post I make. Now I try to ignore all this but at what point to you say, "shut the F*** up". and how do you say it so that not to make yourself look like the jerk. Or do you just walk away from the forum all together. I know this sounds like a whining thread, but I am curious how other might have dealt with this. Maybe I just need thicker skin to be on the Internet and relax and say they don't matter and suck it up. Don't really know.

Not only does this make you look gracious, it also will serve to drive her insane.

She's prob just jealous that you have a boyfriend and she doesn't. Some girls can be really mean this way.

Thanks she is kind of the drama queen of the forum. And although she is married has had a thing for my guy and has had history as she has put it. But I appreciate your advice. I feel maybe I am to sensitive for this life of the net.

Well I have kind of stepped back from going on the forum. My boyfriend is a mod on the site so he needs to stay imparshal to the events. Well I have blocked her from my msn. She likes to pop on when she know me and my boyfriend are online together which is not a lot of time together as he is 8 hours ahead of me in the UK. But I might just let her stew for a while then maybe come back after a while.

Well she has just sent me a nice pm saying she hates me and hates that my boyfriend chose me over anything she may have dreams she had with him. (not to mention she is pregnant and married to boot) and none of it is with my boyfriend. I do like the idea of being sickly sweet, but that has failed also with her. I am just going to step back and let her rant and find some other great site, like this one to fill my time. hehe

Shorty.... what forum is it? I like rpg's too. My boyfriend is really into games and he's gotten me hooked. Usually girls don't really play a lot of computer games especially Rpg's but they are fun! What kind of games do you play.

I hate girls who try to grab all of the attention. She must thing she sounds so cool saying whatever it is she says. The truth is everyone reading what she rights is going to be thinking what a B**** she is. Don't even worry about her. Shrug her off. She doesn't sound like she's even worth the time to be upset. Especially if she is treating you that way. Plus, I am sure your bf doesn't want anything to do with her and if so... then screw her! :)

You should report any personal abuse to the moderators of the forum, they will then investigate and action such claims responsibly. If you have contributed to that Forum for a while, they are far more likely to want to make sure you stay and thus (id hope) swiftly deal with such a problem.

As seen on these forums, It does become obvious as to the distinction between allowing free speech and banning abusive behaviour.

Personal attacks should never be tolerated.

Thanks for that well I am going to let it go. Life is too short to stress about her and her life. What hurts me is how it hurt my boyfriend also. He has been friends with this girl for years and well she only became this way whilst we started dating. I guess she felt she was needed or the center of his universe any more. Oh well. I am happier now it seems to help to vent it out and realize I haven't done anything wrong. Time to but away the pain and get on with being happy and enjoying life. haha

Yes, The mods are now aware of it. I didn't want to go to them as my boyfriend is one of them. They all know me and are trying to make it better. I was just trying to deal with it but the pm I got from her today was the end of it. I got a I hate you and will never like you pm so I had to finally say something. I feel bad that she made it come to this but such is life and I will have to deal with her still and try and show respect. LOL

I guess to be on the internet and have a life you need very thick skin but oh well this has been a life lesson for me. Shorty
