I have been watching the news and it looks like the Iraqi people want the United States out of Iraq and some people have been holding signs that say "Bush=Saddam"...
And when those people toppled the Saddam statue it was estimated only 150 attended and they compare this the the toppling of the Berlin wall? Pathetic...

They are comparing Bush to Saddam because they don't him in control like Saddam was and so far it looks more like an occupation more than a liberation... and the people of Iraq don't want us there... just like saddam... duh!

Yes, they are saying thank you, now get out. Nobody would want to be under a military occupation by the US. Scary. The US should get out, they said it was for the "freedom of the Iraqi people". Well, their free, if the US wanted the country, they should have said it was for their own good, they didn't. So get out.

US is fixing to withdraw already. I think everyone would agree that this whole campaign went really quickly, and probably surprised a lot of people (nay sayers especially). I don't think the US accomplished everything that we set out to do, but we did get a lot done.
About the Bush = Saddam signs, hey, that's great, they'll get to run things themselves soon enough. At least we see more evidence that they didn't like Saddam!

I would rather be under US Military occupation than live in Cuba or china or N Korea under their everyday regime. Shoot the kids is so brainwashed he thinks any word s with US and military means bloodthirsty soldiers drinking the blood of children and raping women, hmmm, sounds just like what saddaam told his people we would do.....

Those folks need some supervision around until a new government is formed. To walk out now would simply allow an arabian branch of the Mothers And Fathers Italian Association to open immediately. Sometimes the cure is a pretty tough pill to swallow. They want a new govt, but need not rush into the first thing that looks good in the frenzy of new-found (regained too) freedoms. Their political system, one that's been in place for over 20 years has just disappeared. On a psychological level, the entire population is in shock from the major trauma of the conflict, coupled with the real stress of no more Saddam and the gang. No more sanctions. They have to learn how to do 'it' all over again. Think of the next steps as being disaster relief. The US certainly has no desire to stay there any longer than is necessary.

Well at least Blib finally admits that the people were happy that we went in and took ol' Saddam out.

Also, something I find ironic:
The left here is saying "the military needs to get out because that's what the protestors in iraq want."
However, if we did leave, then another lousy non-democratic regime would probably rise up. Then the left would say "some liberation! We were right all along. This was a foolish war. Bush couldn't even liberate the people."
You guys are something else.

Oh come on! Out of context. You forgot "now get out". Saddam isn't there anymore, but another just like him can appear, or one more subtle. Let's try to keep a US suggested(or placed) leader out of there. And if they screw it, I wont be blaming it on the US, just human stupidity.

Yes Blib, but before you were denying that the Iraqis even wanted us to remove Saddam. Now you are saying they thanked us for it.

I didn't think that the Iraqis didn't want Saddam gone, I just dissaproved of sending in a bunch of soldiers to dispose of him.

Dave seriously who gives a fuck if they have democracy or not... Not everyone likes democracy... The people in Iraq should be able to choose what kind of government they want to live under...

I don't understand Blibblob, they want him gone, but don't use military action, How else are we supposed to help them?

Yet another misguided socialist, who thinks democracy is the opposite...*sighs* It's bad enough that the stupid conservatives think that. Generally under socialism it actually is democratic, not some shitty republic like the US. People loose their minds fast now... where's the cliff.
