I recall Jere had a thread going a long time ago where everyone posted the song or artist that they were listening to at the moment. So what's been on your playlist recently? Jump on in and list some artists.
The past week for me:
The Pixies- or just Pixies, they were one of the most underrated bands of all time. Check them out.
Interpol- latest album
The Doors- Greatest hits
Pink Floyd- Piper at the Gates of Dawn
Tool- New stuff
Muse- Absolution
Some of the new Chili Peppers stuff.
Audioslave- Don't care much for modern mainstream music, but this band left an impression. All of theirs.

Have you heard Brooklyn Bounce's remix of The Vengaboy's hit, Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom?
It's great. It takes two groups I like and works up a good song.

A friend told me about it, and supposedly will take care of it. I don't know the specifics, but I am sure you could find his tour schedule on-line. You may not have to drive at all.

I know that Gabriel & Dresden are coming to Cleveland at the Metropolis, it should be kickass. And I just checked for Tiesto and he's coming to Columbus May 20th. I will make it down there I'm sure. Thanks for letting me know though, I didn't even think to look.

I listen to some foreign language music from time to time-mostly German or Japanese, but the occasional group from another place. The language of the lyrics doesn't bother me one bit, I can always find the translation. Lyrics are important, and if they are meaningful and play well into the instrumental, a great song will arise. And I happen to know enough German to get me through most songs.
Right now I'm listening to:
Spoon
The Arcade Fire
And some Radiohead

I like rock the most though.
I have always been a fan of Queen and a lot of 80's music, like Journey, Duran Duran, Wham, Toto, and many more...

hi
I am currently listening to Rihanna Cd is A girl like me
song Is unfaithful.
Love her way of doing SOS and this song Unfaithful.
This is more my mellower listening. Earlier I was listening to Therapy, Trouble gum. Love that cd. It has some great guitar work in it.
PS Frogger you have a real diverse range of music. It is very cool to see that. I have aprox 800 cd's of all genres and love that.

Pretty good taste Frogger, very...large. Far too lacking in rock and indie to be my library though.
Note:
Grunge: Babes In Toyland, Dead Kennedys, Queens of the Stone Age, Moldy Peaches
These bands are not true grunge (Babes is Riot Grrrrl music!). 3 of them aren't even grunge at all! Dead Kennedys is punk, old punk but still punk. QOTSA is alternative "stoner" rock. Moldy Peaches is lo-fi indie stuff.
Good taste though.

If I could find some way to cut and paste my song list it would linclude everything from, I'm A Little Teapot, to Dietrich Fischer-Diskau singing Der Erlkonig. I love music. Topo bad I can't sing (even before my throat surgery. When I made my confirmation the Pastor told me to just mouth the words to Rock of Ages.) and I can't play any musical instrument more complex than a comb and tissue paper.

Buddy Holly was okay but he was more an oldies singer than a doowop singer and doowop is the greatest music ever to come out of the United States.
It is a simple four part harmony with the emphasis usually on the second and fourth beats that evolved from gospel and rhythm and blues. It began on the streets of NYC where black teens sang street corner harmony accompanied by either hand claps or nonsense syllabels. In the beginning it was almost entirely acapella. It usually consisted of a lead singer with background harmony either echoing him or forming an understory to his singing.
The period in which doowop reigned supreme was from about 1952 to 1963.

And because the guitarist from A Perfect Circle was the guitar technician for Tool.
A perfer A Perfect Circle though. Tool seems to have locked themselves in one style, their latest CD sounds far too much like Lateralus, which is annoying because I perfered the jumps they did from Ænima and was hoping for more.

I believe most people prefer APC to Tool, perhaps due to the vocal melody, but it's best not to let Tool fans know that, they're vicious.

I still think the new album is a good listen though, and since APC is now on indefinite hiatus (possible break-up), Maynard may carry over a bit of change for Tool's next stuff.
