Bush's best moment in office? Reeling in big perch
Sun May 7, 2006 11:01 AM BST16

BERLIN (Reuters) - U.S. President George W. Bush told a German newspaper his best moment in more than five years in office was catching a big perch in his own lake.

"You know, I've experienced many great moments and it's hard to name the best," Bush told weekly Bild am Sonntag when asked about his high point since becoming president in January 2001.

"I would say the best moment of all was when I caught a 7.5 pound (3.402 kilos) perch in my lake," he told the newspaper in an interview published on Sunday.

Bush said the worst moment was September 11 when hijacked planes crashed into the World Trade Centre in New York and the Pentagon in Washington.

"In such a situation it takes a while before one understands what is happening," Bush said. "I would say that this was the hardest moment, once I had the real picture before my eyes."

Because Bild could not immediately furnish English quotes, Bush's comments were translated from the German. The paper said the White House planned to release an authorised English version of the interview on Monday.

The man couldn't come up with a meaningful quote if it was fed to him through a hidden earpiece by Rove.

I thought for sure it would have been standing on the deck of th USS Lincoln telling America that "major combat operations have come to an end in Iraq" but then again, a seven and a half pound perch is one pretty damn big fish.

Bush said the worst moment was September 11 when hijacked planes crashed into the World Trade Centre in New York and the Pentagon in Washington.

Quite the contrary.

The absolute BEST moment in all of recorded history --from the perspective of GWBush and his band of ConservaFascist conspirators, who were aligned with the **Project for a New American Century**-- was the very instant WHEN the airplanes crashed into the World Trade Center towers.

All of the ConservaFascist regime's dreams came true in that instant, in that fraction of time when the 'Murican Sheeple watched on teevee as the huge airliners sliced into the WTC buildings in a fireball of destruction.....

All of their fascist plans and agenda became possible -- perhaps even inevitable-- in that exact instant.

Oil war. Trumped-up-on-lies war. Forever war. Massive-profits-for-the-military-Industrial-Complex war. War that became the perfect excuse for massive increases in Defense spending.

It was --even though he seems loathe to publicly admit it-- the defining moment of G. W. Bush's life (as well the rightwing military/industrial complex's life) on this planet.

I guess we have another major cover-up in Washington...it turns out that it wasn't a perch at all, it was a bass. And not surprisingly, a largemouth bass to boot. He probably thought it was about to leak something important, so he killed it.

It's hard to believe that you can be so delusional that you do not realize that what I say is true. It's right before your eyes.....it's in the pronouncments of the Project for a New American Century......it's happening right now.

And you are blind to it.

At a commencement address, Pres. Peter Principle gave the world this pearl of wisdom:
"Science should serve the cause of humanity, not the other way around."
Number one, if it wasn't for science, what would he have to politicize?
Two, denying certain freedoms to gays and the terminally ill ain't exactly serving the cause. (Unless the cause is placating the Bible-Belting kook jobs.)
Three, religionshould serve the cause of humanity.
Not vice versa.

.....denying certain freedoms to gays and the terminally ill ain't exactly serving the cause. (Unless the cause is placating the Bible-Belting kook jobs.

You should keep firmly in mind that fact that a great many if not most of the actions of the Washington political crowd -- i.e., how the two issues you mentioned, gay marriage and right-to-die, are dealt with--- are approached with the express purpose and intent of placating the many millions of *Bible-Belt kook jobs* among the populace.

The thing you need to remember is that there is only ONE to whom we should answer to.

I don't know about you, Vile, but for me that is God.

While I also answer to those I love, ie, my wife, my children and grandchildren, my ultimate answer is always given to God.

I know that is difficult for some of you to understand but there is a sizeable group of people who believe as I do.

Actually, it's more of what the writers of the PNAC documents had feared was going to happen. They're right to do so. The Bin Laden types did decide to attack the U.S. directly, you've that Ahmandinejad guy in Iran acquiring nuclear weapons, promising to wipe out Israel and stating that democratic style of government is not only incompatible with Muslims but the U.S. should give up that particular system of government as well. PLUS you have the Chi-Coms gearing up for war over Taiwan and that is another group of people who don't believe in things like human rights and freedoms, and you've got Hugo Chavez down there in Venezuela making noise. There are plenty of people who do not want democracy to spread, the PNAC documents state that it's in America's best interest to defend our particular way of life, rebuild our defenses and combat evil regimes like Iran, and I agree with them.

All of the ConservaFascist regime's dreams came true in that instant, in that fraction of time when the 'Murican Sheeple watched on teevee as the huge airliners sliced into the WTC buildings in a fireball of destruction.....

Those sheeple, as you call them, witnessed the largest attack by foreigners since Pearl Harbor. I wouldn't go so far as to say that the ConservaFascists had their dreams come true, but they've been worried about something like this happening and it did, dammit.

Oil war. Trumped-up-on-lies war. Forever war. Massive-profits-for-the-military-Industrial-Complex war. War that became the perfect excuse for massive increases in Defense spending.

Oil war, this from the kind of people who throw fits whenever the idea of ENERGY INDEPENDENCE by drilling for our own God-Damned oil gets proposed.

Profits for the military industrial complex and massive defense spending. First off, the government is SUPPOSED to be defending America, not using tax revenue to buy votes by promising free this or free that, geez. Whatever your feelings about whether or not this "war" in Iraq is trumped up or not, I'll tell you here and now that if we hadn't take a hand in the affairs in the Middle East the Saddams, Bin Ladens, Ahmandinejads and others are all too willing to use Islam as a springboard for attacks against the West.

We need to wake up on this one, dammit.

Oh, and trust Bush to put his foot in his mouth yet again. If only Ronaldus Maximus could be resurrected......(Reagan for those of you in Rio Linda, dammit)
