Now Turkey has proved it has no right to enter European Union because it is an aggressor!

Last week, Turkish military troops of "Burgundy Beret" units launched the Operation Crescent, a cross-border operation allegedly against training camps of Kurdish workers' Party (PKK) located in Northern Iraq.

On April 29, some 120 Turkish solders crossed the border of Iraq and invaded the Northern Iraqi cities of Amedi and Zaho and destroyed a camp of PKK militants located there.

Along with the transfer of commandos, heavy equipment was also brought to the border with Iraq for the use during the cross-border operation. It is clear now, that Turkey only pretended to be performing an anti-PKK operation to move its troops closer to area of Kurdistan that is rich in oil. Turkey is planning to take the area over its control and produce oil to be delivered later to Turkey. In the long term, Istanbul is planning to appendix Kurdistan to the territory of Turkey and prevent separation of Kurds into an independent state of Kurdistan that is supposed to be consisting of parts of south-eastern Turkey, north-western Iran, north-eastern Syria, and north-eastern Iraq.

Naturally, such aggressors like Turkey MUST NOT be members of an esteemed organization like European Union!

Turkey has a horrible human rights record, particularly against the Kurds. There are also more UN resolutions against it then Iraq and Iran. Yet the US just offered to build Turkey a free nulclear reactor if they would let the US deploy troops into Iran from there. You gotta love the double standards...

The failure of the U.S. to get a new government established in Iraq has led to instability. The Kurds fought against Turkey in a long and bloody insurrection during the 1990's, seeking to establish an independant Kurdistan. The Kurds are a minority population in several countries in the area; Turkey, Iran, Syria, and Iraq. Turkey fears an independent Kurdistan, because it would take in a large portion of southeastern Turkey.
If you remember the start of the War in Iraq, the U.S. was unable to move the troops we desired to open a northern front in Iraq through Turkey, because the Turks demanded that they be allowed to participate by placing bases across the Kurdish area of northern Iraq. The Kurds in northern Iraq stated publicly that they would attack any Turkish troops that entered their territory. Eventually, we sent advisors to help the Kurds open a northern front with their own forces.
The current Turkish operation is another step in the slide toward a wider regional war that could easily break out. Any operation against Iran will also be a part of that slide. It could easily wind up triggering World War III.
