Sharia (Islamic Law) appears to be a barbaric practice.

The punishment of whoever intentionally takes the life of a person is to have his own life taken when not forgiven by the closest relatives of the person he killed. And in this case, the sixteen year old did not forgive his father's killer. If killing him was the only way he was able to achieve that, then he had to do what he had to do.

In the Quran, It says: {…..But if the killer is forgiven by the brother (or the relatives, etc.) of the killed against blood money, then adhering to it with fairness and payment of the blood money, to the heir should be made in fairness. This is an alleviation and a mercy from your Lord. …….} [2:178]

Really, it depends on the family of the victim. If they want the murderer dead, then the execution would be carried out. Regarding the public view, according to Shariah, the execution does not have to be in the publics view.

Yeah I mean its so much more civilized here where a complete stranger murders the convicted in cold-blood with a needle or poison gas...

"As of 2006, Idaho and Oklahoma are the only states in which execution by firing squad is still legally available (as back up methods only; both states use lethal injection as their primary methods of execution)"

"At present, only Washington and New Hampshire still retain hanging as an option"

John Albert Taylor, on January 26, 1996, in Draper, Utah. He ordered pizzas "with everything," for his last meal. His crime was the rape and strangulation of an 11 year old girl.

In the U.S, the last execution done by firing squad was in 1996 on John Albert Taylor.

Guess I was a little slow.

IM opposed to capital punishment,as I believe its more punishment to spend the rest of your life in jail.with no privledges, like that al Quida guy the other day...
